Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

1. When you remove your binder for the first time, you may faint. Have someone close by and if you feel dizzy, lay down. I think my blood pressure changed when the pressure was released after taking off my binder at the doctor's office. Down I went, fell out of the chair, hitting my head on the tile floor on day 1 post op. Not good, giant hump on my head, but I recovered.

2. Wearing underwear under your binder is way more comfortable. My garmet has a 6 hook closure and its hard to manage. When my period started early, I learned that underwear were necessary and make hooking the snaps on the crotch a lot easier.

3. Keep track of medicines using your cell phone clock app. When I take a pain pill, I set the alarm for "Pain Pills" for 4 hours. After 5 days, I don't need the pain pills anymore.... unless I cough ????

4. I think you will likely cough as your lungs are clearing mucus left from the breathing tube. If you stand or move, your body may work that mucus out, so be ready. I also worked the mucus up using a back massager. Although the few coughs hurt like hell, its better than leaving fluid in the lungs and developing pneumonia. The back massager was fantastic as my back muscles were strained from bending over. On day 5 post op, I still had a little mucus that I coughed up...ouch!

5. A heating pad for your back will do wonders. Have one ready.

6. I put a stool in the tub for a sit down wash up. Standing for a shower was too much for my back. I didn't shower until day 4 even though the doctor gave the green light after day 1. I'll shower again as needed. When the surgical tape gets wet, its not easy to dry with cool air. I don't want to risk infection from moisture.

7. Skin healing with a big crease down the middle. Dr put tape from the center going out to pull the skin smooth. Seems to be working.

8. I alternate 1 Exlax and 60 ml Milk of Magnesia every 48 hours and haven't had constipation. That may be overkill, but I was very worried about constipation.

9. If you feel a sneeze, press under your nose with your finger and hope it goes away. I got rid of 2 sneezes this way.

10. Watching Reign on Netflix will take up a lot of down time if you get bored.

11. I can reach and wipe the rear just fine. Have to reach through the front for the vaginal cleaning after peeing.

12. If your undergarment feels too tight, it probably is. I have two types, both size Med, however one is so constricting that it wakes me up from my sleep. When I pop it off and use the other one, life is much more manageable. Don't suffer unnecessarily, if you have to, order a better one on Amazon. It was so tight, it cut off my legs and smushed my drain line. I see why the doctor doesn't use those anymore. It was just an extra that they have me.

13. Alcohol pads are useful if you will be taking injections. Blood thinner

14. A walker is very useful... very recommended!
