I am very glad that I was able to see Dr. Rassman....
I am very glad that I was able to see Dr. Rassman. I am 32 yrs old and I have been taking Finestride for the last six years. I am thinning mostly at the crown and also my hairline has receded.
Right before I went to see Dr. Rassman, I consulted at another hair transplant office in Beverly Hills. At that office, the cost of doing FUE hair transplant in my crown area would have been $14,000 without financing. They also suggested that I could do another transplant on my hairline area for a slightly lower pricing.
When I saw Dr. Rassman, I was given a hair measurement on my head. He was able to determine that my crown area has been thinning at 29% compared to the rest of my head. Most of this reflecting in a larger degree of miniaturized hairs in the crown. He mentioned that if I would undergo a crown hair transplant, I might lose many of these miniaturized hairs and the net value of a hair transplant might be zero. He strongly suggested against any transplant in the crown area. If I wanted to cover up some scalp, he recommended Scalp Pigmentation instead. He also told me to keep taking Finestride. Now, my hairline has receded to a mature hairline. My forehead definitely looks bigger than a few years ago and does make me look older than before. Dr. Rassman told me that this particular transplant would be successful and it would be up to me if I wanted this elective procedure. He drew a what would be a new hairline on my forehead and took a picture of it and emailed it to me along with a summery of the consultation so I can think it over. He also gave a me a copy of "Hair Loss & Replacement for Dummies" which he co-authored. I was invited to the open house where I could actually see the results of recent patients.
Mostly, I appreciate Dr. Rassman's honesty and ethical practice. He was patient during our lengthy consultation where he answered all of my questions. Losing hair can make a man vulnerable, if I went with another clinic, I would have been convinced into getting a transplant in my crown area. By seeing Dr. Rassman, I was able to save myself from making a premature decision. Now I can stop freaking out about hair loss and make a better informed decision if I were to decide to get a procedure done. I strongly recommend Dr. Rassman and his office.
