WORTH IT$9,000
I have wanted a rhinoplasty since the age of 21 but was too afraid to make any adjustments to my face. I just did not want to have any regrets and at that age I was in nursing school trying to survive. I had my Rhino on 1/15/16 by Dr. Hughes (LA Cali) and I'm excited to get my cast off tomorrow (POD 6). Dr. Hughes is pretty awesome!! Wish me luck because right now I'm very nervous. I can tell my nose is much smaller with a bridge & a more defined tip and I am hoping I can get use to it. I already went through my depressed "what or why" stage POD 1 - 3. I'm a very transparent person and do not mind if someone notices I had a nose job. I will try & post pics as the healing process continues which I hear is over 6 months to a year (Wow!!). This means no ones knows the ending results and all I can do is be optimistic. Yes that's the goal, positive energy. I'm ready to see myself without my cast today (it's 1am now).

Update after Cast Removal
nkinardJanuary 22, 2016
I was very excited to get my cast off today. Now I'm trying to adjust. I'm so use to my nose taking away from all my other features because it so easily dominated. I can thank dad for that. I did not know my eyes were as large as they are (not sure if it's a good change) or that my lips were so tiny (no worries I have not thought about enlarging them yet lol). Glad I'm off work for 4 weeks because this is a drastic change not subtle like I was hoping. My doctor respected all of my wishes & this is the outcome. However it is still healing & will take time. Let's see how this goes together. Thanks for joining me on my adventure.

U R so sweet, thank U very much. I will keep U updated & I hope my nose grow slightly more larger as I heal...especially my nostrils (width). Mayb loosing weight will help bcuz I had a tummy tuck 2 weeks ago on 1/6 & Ive lost 15 Ibs already. Let's see how this pans out. Thx again

Wow girl, you had a tt a couple of weeks before rhino? I didn't know that was possible! I have multiple sx planned for this year and I was thinking I'd have to space them out just because. How are you healing from both sxs? I may have to consider this for work purposes.

Yes yes, on 1/6 I had TT & 1/15 Rhino. Dr. Hughes said if your healthy with no other health issues such as anemia or other chronic conditions (ex. Diabetes) that can slow down healing process then a 1-2 week wait between surgeries would be fine. It worked well because I only took off 4 weeks from work. I want to be fully healed by summer time here in LA lol. I slept in a very comfy Recliner after TT surgery & started trying to sleep in my bed 1 night before Rhino with lots of pillows including a neck roll pillow (at highest point) which allowed me to hyperextended head slightly with nose faced upward after rhino as recommended. My bed height was too high to hop in so the recliner made it easier. Oh this worked out well for me. I had to do lots of grocery shopping night b4 TT for lots of fresh & frozen fruit, fresh yogurt, and quick healthy finger foods. I'm upstairs & my Plastic surgeon said NO stairs for a few days post both surgeries and that made it tough for me because kitchen in downstairs lol. Hope this helps, most of you guys are young and will bounce back quickly. I'm healing pretty quickly.

I love it already!

I'm so glad because I'm still tryn to take this all in. It looks different today... It's actually larger & my nostrils are too, sooooo thrilled. Of course I felt better when I woke up to see this. Thanks for the encouraging words & have a fabulous day. My friends are coming to cheer me up this morning and I'm looking forward to the company.

Yayy. It's always hard to see something new on your face lol but you look wonderful. So pretty

Nkinard I can totally see why you might feel like the surgery was drastic...there's no doubt about it, the change in the nostril width and the bridge raise will take time to get used to...but I have to say I'm blown away by the results already and this is while you still have a whole bunch of swelling! You were already a good looking lady but the new nose makes your eyes really pop now. I can't see this sunken thing you referred to but anything you are seeing maybe just relates to swelling around the mid face making your lower eyes look more hollow than usual. Can I ask you, did you have any support added to your tip or did doc just suture and narrow the existing tip? I've been looking at Sam Rizk for my mixed race rhino (really scary price - $22000) but I'm totally going to check out your surgeon now. I honestly hadn't heard of his name before now, despite stalking realself for around a year already. Did you have much of a wait to book your surgery date?

Hi, u R so sweet & understanding. Thanks 4 compliments. It was a last minute add on. He's stays pretty booked but had a late cancellation I found out during my 1 week TT follow up appt. which happened to b the following day so I took full advantage of the opportunity. I had been discussing my nose with him for over a year & kept going to see him just to talk in person but he knew I was scared & not ready at that time. I had no additions to my tip.

I just checked out your surgeon & he's a facial specialist which is pretty awesome. You should always get someone that specialize in the area however, it doesn't always mean they are better. His ratings are amazing and that's great. You also want a doctor who stays up to date on evidence base which means the newest and greatest yet safest procedures & techniques are implemented. That's very expensive $22,000. I wonder all that's included in that price.

I had my primary ethnic rhinoplasty with Dr Rizk in 2011. He is very good. His style is effective yet very subtle changes. I am now about to have revision with Dr Maloney in Atlanta as I would like a more drastic change. But I would happily recommend Dr Rizk to anyone (who doesn't mind his high prices).

Happy Healing! You are already looking good at 6 days post op :). The under eyes, is a concern for me as well (I'm 18 days post op) and I'm most likely doing Beletero (filler) under the eyes to help with the hollowness. Best of luck with recovery!

Hi Beautiful, my surgeon was just explaining the difference between natural fat transfer under eyes VS different fillers. Fat transfers last longer & looks just as natural. He said most return to get fillers at least 2X pee year. He actually said for me to wait a year before deciding bcuz he just didn't see the need until full recovery is reached with Rhino. He thinks I'm going crazy with all the surgeries lol. Last year I had Lipo & fat removal from my upper & lower eye lids. I had that eye puffy issue since I was a kid and he did an amazing job. I'll post before & after pics. That's possibly why I have this issue now under my eyes. I can now see veins under my eyes as well & I do not like that. Well your looking good girl & recovering beautifully.

Hi nkinard, i had that sunken look under my eyes for a few months after my rhinoplasty. You are early in the healing process and your nose will go through a lot of changes. Just be patient.
January 26, 2016
thank you :) yeah its easy to get addicted haha. Ive had the under eye fillers before and cheek filler so i am comfortable with it, but I know it does add up in price bc you have to maintain it. I just get scared about the fat transfer because I work out a lot and so I'm always afraid any transferred fat can go away more easily because of that. I have the puffy eyes too, and I know in about another decade I plan to have the same procedure you had done, but for now I don't wanna mess with my eyes under the knife just yet. Who knows, that may change later too lol.
