Forehead Scar Revision Surgery - Long Island, NY

Hey Everyone! I apologize for this very late update. Many of you have commented and I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner. It's been a crazy year. TBC: My surgeon was Dr. Richard Reisch. He's young, somewhat unnerving, smart and ambitious. I don't love his bedside manner because I'm not very comfortable with people staring at my face looking for imperfections, but I do think he's good at what he does and he'll give it to you straight. I went back to him for an update about a year later and he didn't [RS bleep]. He told me he had hoped it would look better than it does, but that he didn't see much use in doing it again. Apparently I move my forehead a lot when I communicate so that's what inhibited the healing process. Who knows?

IMO my scar has healed pretty nicely in the almost two years since I had the surgery. I'm not as ecstatic as I was 2 months in, but I think it's aesthetically much better than it would have been had I not gotten the surgery. It's healing with a slightly white tint that I think is person to person depending on skin tone and dna- my mom's scars heal like this too. There's also some stitching scars that are more noticeable in fluorescent light. The photos below are taken without makeup after I worked out in soft lighting, but I did use the flash so you can see the whiteness. Hope this helps! I'll say this, I think I get more and more used to it and my face adapts to it or it's adapting to my face. Also, it's barely noticeable in candid photos which is great. Good luck to all of you!

I'm a little less than 5 months post-surgery and I'm very happy with the current results. The redness started to fade last month and the scar has begun to smooth out. I am now confident in saying that the surgery was 100% worth it.

My reason for surgery was I wanted to get rid of an atrophic scar on my forhead. Scar was formed this past August after someone accidentally broke a beer stine on my of my face while dancing at a wedding in Scotland- freak thing! The Scottish are wild! There happened to be a lot of doctors attending this wedding and they all told me I didn't need stitches. Alas none of these doctors were plastic surgeons. When I got back to NYC, I shopped around for a good PS and had procedure done in October. Doctor went to Harvard Med and did his thesis in scar revision. He was great and I trusted him fully, but not sure if it's currently in good shape. I use silicon cream twice daily. Would appreciate feedback from those 6 months out of surgery.
