I had breast cancer reconstruction over a year ago, the Doctor I used was Dr Neil Tanna. I was left disfigured. He canceled a few reconstructions, and I did also, so this was never resolved. The one day I was going to have surgery, I waited in LIJ for a few hours as Tanna was late, he forgot that I needed lipo to fill in breast..he forgot everything he was going to do..so I walked out of LIJ ...I am trying to get an out of network doctor but my insurance emblem heath is giving me grief and putting me through hoops. i am depressed behind anything I have ever felt in my life.

Holey moly. Did you ever get this resolved. I also went through reconstruction but had a good experience. I think the law is on your side.

No, it is not resovled, I don't know what to do via the law, i am tired of trying and calling land looking in vain. NYC is awful when it comes to hip health care, few doctors accept it.

I am so happy you were take care of ! No, it's been over two years and no resolve, I look like a monster, no nipples and the deformities are getting worse. I think I is too last to find a lawyer. :( isn't is two years?

Your insurance company should be supporting you completely!! They have lawyers! This doctor did not follow through with duty of care and completely botched the job. He needs to be taken to task for not only the sloppy job he has done but the mental anguish he has subjected you to after suffering breast cancer. I would be letting all forums know what to expect if they go to this doctor & if you have any TV shows or journalists that can help you then go for it!! No doctors like bad publicity. I do hope you can get a proper reconstruction through your insurance but it may take a long time if they can drag their feet they will! However if in the end you have to pay to have beautiful breasts again then try overseas if you can afford it. I am a dual US/ AU. citizen & live in Australia. I have had all my surgeries by Dr Greechart a board certified plastic surgeon & head of plastic surgery at Yanhee Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. He is a very popular surgeon as he is a complete artist not just a surgeon. He speak good English & he will access your case online, give you a price & you can ask any questions. It would cost you a fraction of what you would pay in USA & you get a wonderful cheap holiday as well. We stay in a suite for US$39 per night which includes a beautiful buffet breakfast for myself & husband. I do wish you all the best through all of this. I am happy you have made it through breast cancer & I wish only the best for you to stay healthy & in remission throughout your life.

omg you poor thing. this dr is a butcher for sure, please call the state medical board and the american board of plastic surgery and file a complaint before the statue of limitations are over, you will not get any compensation but you can potentially help another person from falling into a victim of his hands. doctors ought to be accounted for esp plastic surgeons who seem to be one step over the law.

I am a teacher so I can t post my pictures I really understand the fact to be unhappy with the results and knowing doctor tanna I m sure he will do anything to fix her and get better results.

From what I see in the picture the implant is not well sized you should get a bigger implant cause your pocket looks big . Don't worry it can be fix. He puts silicon gel 700cc in mine.
How many CC do u have ?

Extrapolation of this sort really isn't likely. You're lucky you had a good result. Some have luck with him, others don't. That's so of all doctors.

Hang in there! I too have went through various implant exchanges due to infections and reconstruction. Eight years out and not satisfied, I have found a way lactic surgeon group in San Antonio called PRMA. This group of doctors focus mostly on breast reconstruction and have amazing reviews. Met with a Dr and he seemed compassionate and understood the fact that me having a breast is important to me. As of now, I am doing the insurance jumping through hoops. Trying to be patient. But eight years and having radiated skin issues, it's time to move on to another plastic surgeon that completely understands and is a professional from the beginning.

I am still suffering the effects of a bad breat reconstruction. I saw a few doctors and they told me I have very bad scar tissue, I don't know if that is doctor tanas doing of my breast surgeon.
Is there any accountability amount doctors these days, as I don't see much.

If you're still having issues, I highly recommend the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery in New Orleans! They would be able to tell you if a revision would be covered by insurance, but I think it's a legal requirement that you can have revisions until you're satisfied. I actually traveled from Seattle twice for my reconstruction with them because I heard they're doing the most advanced microsurgeries in the country, and I'm very happy with my results--I can even wear low-cut dresses and not feel weird! They took tissue from my hips to rebuild my breasts.
