My left ear had a small bump on the top in which my wife called it a tumor. She stated that it was growing. Knowing my ear it is not growing, however it became a distraction. I googled to search for a Doctor who repairs ears, and Dr Weber's name came up. He had terrific reviews and I decided to end my search there and schedule a consultation. The consultation was thorough and the cost of the procedure to remove the bump was fair. The staff and assistant's were friendly and offered drinks (coffee) while I wait. The day of the surgery for me was exciting knowing that I would have my left ear look like my right ear. The procedure went smooth and I was in and out of there in no time with no complications. Almost 2 weeks out and my wife and I are extremely satisfied with the results. Dr Weber and staff has made it a wonderful and successful experience for me! I look forward to seeing him in the future.

I want to know that do you had scar for these treatment.

Incision was made on the inside of the helix with a couple stitches. Once the stitches were removed after a week, it was a little pink with no scar.

What was the procedure? Did they have to cut your ear to make it smaller or just separate the skin from the cartilage and excise the bump? Thank you for your write up.

Was the bump extra cartilage or scar tissue? Looks great!
July 6, 2017
Thanks! it was excess cartilage which Dr Weber shaved off.

Thanks! I am very pleased with the results. It was excess cartilage that Dr Weber shaved off.

Did he just use a scapel? Are there any bumps or sharp edges in the area he shaved or its pretty smooth and contours just like your ear?

Sorry, I do not know what Dr Weber used, and I did not specifically asked about the description of the area that he shaved off.

Thanks. How long did you have to let the ear heal or have the skin fuse back to the cartilage for such an area and small incision (I'm guessing it was a small incision). Did you have to not do anything phsyical that could impact the ear for months? Did you have to wear ear protection to sleep?

Went back in a week to remove a couple stitches. No physical limitations, and no ear protection at night.
