Picosure Laser Tattoo Removal - Inner Becip Tattoo Regret - London, GB

An introduction:
My name is Paul, I'm 31. I live in London (UK). I'm not against tattoo's. I wanted a tattoo for years. But when I got it quickly regretted it.

The tattoo:
I settled upon a wing design on my inner bicep, thinking it would be less 'in your face' on the inner bicep - and I'd seen other that I though looked good. I rushed the process when I had the tattoo created. I quickly found I regretted the tattoo, it was too big, too black and with it being on my inner bicep I found I noticed it all the time. It had to go, it wasn't me at all.

Procedure x1:
After my research online I decided I wanted the Picosure laser because it seems to be the most effective.

I had a free consultation at Truskin and Proskin in London regarding the Picosure laser procedure. I settled on Proskin because they were cheaper and the rep answered my questions well.

The procedure was quick, 5 minutes. Very painful, exactly how others have described it 'like a rubber band slapping against your skin'... a rubber band being sprung from miles away!!!! VERY painful. I'd say twice as painful as getting the actual tattoo. I could smell burning, which was unpleasant. They didn't give me any numbing cream because they said they don't for the first procedure because they like to see how I react to the treatment. I found I coped with the pain well. They blew freezing air on the treated area as they were using the laser, which seemed to help.

They rubbed some kind of ointment on to the treated area, then applied padding and tape. No bandage. I talked through the aftercare i.e. leave dressing on for 24 hours, then change it adding Vaseline instead of the ointment - repeat for 5 to 7 days. Then off I went. It was quick and painful.

Post procedure:
Its been 10 hours since the procedure. I felt intense pain, like my bicep was scalded with boiling liquid, straight after, which lasted 3 / 4 hours - very uncomfortable. My arm is now very swollen, and I try not to move it too much. I won't look at the arm under the dressing until I need to change it.

And thats it for now. I'll post regular updates with photo's on my progress.

Good luck to everyone going down this long and painful road!

Any questions feel free to comment.

Its been 24 hours since my x1 Picosure procedure.

Pain:

I'm pretty much pain free! :-)
The sunburn feeling is now, very mild. Don't get me wrong I feel the burn when my arm rubs or nocks something, but its much better than yesterday.

The Tattoo has blistered, as I expected. There is one massive blister 'the daddy', and loads of smaller ones. The whole tattoo is red and swollen. Ref the image and video attached to this review.

I'm hoping the swelling will go down in the next 24 hours or so, so my arm isn't tight in my work shirt on Monday.

I'm a very active person so I don't want this to hold me back too long from my sports and fitness work, this for me will be the biggest frustration.

Aftercare:
I showered this morning leaving the dressing on, avoiding the water on the tattoo. Then wearing a first aid glove I dowsed the tattoo with water, dabbed it dry and added Vaseline, and finally padding and tape.

I'm feeling the enormity of the road I'm going down with this :-s. But staying strong :-)
