55 Year Old with Jowls and Wrinkly Neck - London, GB

I'd been researching surgeons for my surgery for the last 2 years, seen 'the best' in Switzerland and wasn't impressed, then found Dominic and knew he was the only one for me. His ability to show me specific examples of his work detailing the things that really worried me, mainly scars, plus his relaxed and caring nature made my decision easy. We agreed to proceed with a face, brow and neck lift, liposuction of the jaw and neck plus a platysmaplasty. I was sent the pre-op pack three weeks prior to the surgery date, everything I needed to get prepared for surgery was in the pack, including the specific diet list. I did my best to get into excellent shape mentally and physically prior to the surgery, drank no alcohol, even gave up my beloved caffeine. On the day of surgery I walked on my own from The Marylebone Hotel to Dominic's at 8.00am, totally calm and prepared. Eagerly hopping onto the operation chair, the sedation already attached to my hand via IV tube, Dominic administered local anaesthetic and we chatted and sometimes I dozed. I remember most of it, and there was no pain. My husband was waiting to walk me back to the hotel, and I just pulled my hood over my head and was guided back. Lucy, Dominic's amazing assistant, provided us with a post-op care pack, everything was clear and instructions easy to follow. Dominic came to the hotel that evening to change the bandages and I had my first look and was thrilled. Even my husband was extremely happy, and he had been really against the surgery. The following day we walked back to the surgery for a hair wash from Lucy and some bruise dispersing light treatment. I have been incredibly lucky this first week and have had no problems, my first trip back to the surgery was today for removal of the stitches. However, if there had been any problems I could have gone back for treatments as many times as necessary, all included. Dominic texted and called me to check my progress, I would send photos and everything went well. Eating is still a bit of a challenge, however I've managed to eat out since Day 5, and I've been strolling around the parks in London for the last few days. Today I feel almost normal, just some swelling in my chubby cheeks and a little yellow bruising left, covered by Dermablend, no-one is the wiser. I am ecstatic with the result, at the moment I look 20 years younger than I did last week, nothing pulled too tight and no 'wind tunnel' effect. Throughout this journey I have been supported by other Realself members and previous patients' of Dominic's, annon5223 and Soph61. I could not have been more prepared for any eventuality, those two ladies were amazing. They virtually held my hand all the way, and were waiting on tenterhooks on the day of surgery. Soph61 just accompanied me for stitch removal, not the most pleasant experience and lovely to have her with me. Annon5223 is in another country, but we chat via email all the time, they've both been invested in my recovery, We Bray babes form a bond, and we laugh at our secret, tempted to yell it from the mountain tops. I am posting this privately, so no photos, sorry, much as I'd love to show off right now.
