Breast Lift and Scar Revision After Massive Weight Loss - 43 Yo. London, GB

Had my 17 day po visit yesterday and things are healing nicely, given my propensity to scar poorly. I still have a lot of bruising. There is some superficial breakdown under each breast, but my doc's not concerned. I asked him about my aureolas not being the same size and slow healing on the right side. Regarding the slow healing, he says time will right that. About the size, if healing doesn't change the size, he says correcting one is easy, but he recommends waiting many months (8) before making that decision.

Still happy with my choice!

I had my one week post op meeting today. I finally saw my breasts for the first time without tape... I like them! ;)

I was appreciative that she pointed out the extent of the swelling on my right breast and how things will change in both breasts. While we all try to wait and think about aesthetics, symmetry, etc., further down the road, that's hard to do. I will keep focus on the things I can control: protein, rest, bras, and the fact that I'm released from my compression stockings! Whoo-Hoo!

I'll see her again next week and post then.

I like how things look, not much different than day 4, but I still have blood and drainage coming from under my left breast. It isn't a ton, but enough moisture accumulated that I had to remove part of a steri strip and apply another. I don't think that's supposed to happen as some steri strips stay on for weeks! I see my doc on Wed (it's already Mon evening) so I'll address it soon enough but starting to brace myself for whatever weird and wacky scarring I get this time.

Not taking any meds except for finishing my antibiotic. Feeling great overall. Don't have my full energy back (70%??) but I'm fortunate to have anther week off before going back to work. And even then, it is sedentary work. The hardest part will be if I have to hang from a strap on the tube! That would stink!
