I was told minimum bruising yet I look like I have been in a car accident. I have threads sticking out of my head, I have long lumpy vein looking threads protruding down my face . I look like the elephant woman.

...and 5 weeks on how are you feeling hon? Do the threads look and feel any better now that all the swelling and bruising has subsided?

Hi 5 weeks on and my face is still bruised slightly ( Green Tinge) and the threads you can still see. They look as if I have protruding veins in my face.
I would name the doctor as some one asked me to but for legal reasons I cant at the moment. I just want people to think twice before they commit their face to this. Yes a lot of people have had great results, but funny enough isnt that what these companies advertise ? not the ones that do go wrong..... obviously.

I'm really sorry this has happened to you.
Maybe once the threads have dissolved, some Dermal filler to your cheeks and around the mouth might help to restore some of the effects from the threadlift?
It's definitely made me think twice about getting a threadlift.

How to look 20 years older in just one month !!! I am depressed, have huge bags under my eyes and my face has dropped. I look and feel ill. I cant sleep at night, Im tired all day, Im taking 400mg Ibuprofen 4 times a day as well as massaging my cheeks to try and break these things in my face down morning and night. Then all this for something alien in your face which supposing even if it went well doesnt last more than a few months !! unbelievable !!

So sorry to hear your story but well done for naming and shaming them. Like they feel giving you a refund would resolve the issue! shameful

Thanks, I will name and shame them and have my Solicitor take them to Court. Once this is done his name will be blasted in shame.

Have them remove them and give you back your money or better yet have a professional remove them

I am so sorry to hear that you are feelng depressed. I didnt know that threads lift could go so wrong. I have only seen positive in youtube and in my research in polish clinics. I was thinking to get as well but in Poland. I hope you are feeling better. Maybe you should get a real facelift?.

You actually look okay in this photo. The bruising and swelling seems to have gone. Maybe the massaging is working. Don't feel so depressed, people of our age heal slower than 20-year-olds. It's bound to get better.

How are you doing now? Any improvement within yourself (if now your appearance)? I do feel for you as I too have had bad surgery and bad procedures in the past. Fingers crossed you are sleeping better [RS bleep]

I have to say that I have never felt so embarrassed and angry with my self and the so called doctor who has put me through 19 days and on going pain and anxiety.
I have been told it is dangerous to have the threads removed as it could cause paralysis of my face.
I have to now just wait maybe up to one year for these things in my face to dissolve.
This should be a warning to people. I went London The Welbeck London Hospital, only to be treated like a rubber doll. The so called doctoras I understand now only rented a room there. I was told by this doctor who was to be performing this treatment that he would be carrying out this procedure and the trainees in the room would only be observing. The trainees were nothing more than beauticians perhaps from a hairdressing shop all paying £950 for ONE day training to obtain a certificate to enable them to do this to people. This procedure should only be taught by a qualified doctor to other qualified doctors....not beauticians. I am now considering sueing. I only had this done as my daughter is to married in December this year and as the mother of the bride I wanted to look my very best. Now I wont be able to smile on the photographs as this is when I look my worst. I have prominent vein looking objects superficial on my face and threads poking through my forehead. I am depressed and although this so called doctor has said I can have my money back my one side of my face has drooped as if Ive had a stroke. I am 57 years old and now look 10 years older than I did before. BE WARNED.

Firstly, it is highly unethical to use you as a model for training purposes and charge you for this procedure, did you consent this?
Just seems so wrong....
I'm so sorry that you're going through such an ordeal, I have also had the procedure done recently (01.08.16) I'm recovering but not entirely happy. If it's any help I can tell you that the effects are not long lasting, I know this because I've had it done before (3yrs ago) and within 6 months couldn't really tell the difference. So I promise you, you will feel better about you're appearance when the swelling, bruising completely resolves and eventually when the threads dissolve.
It's not permanent, thankfully and on a positive note you will find some unexpected results from the natural collagen that gets built up giving your face a very subtle lift.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing?

Sending you hugs and wishing you a VERY speedy recovery [RS bleep]

Thank you for your email, I was recommended to this doctor by my daughter who is 32 years old and has had previously some botox injections from this person and she has been happy with the results to date. I spoke to this doctor on the phone on a couple of occasions and he reassured me that as he is a qualified doctor he will be training other doctors this procedure and therefore he will be administrating the whole procedure himself with the other "doctors" just looking on. He said the procedure was normally £3,500 but he could do it for me on this basis for only £1,000. I had never had a face to face consultation with him before I met him for the first time on the day of the procedure. He had another 5 models but we were all in different rooms and we never got to meet each other. He told me the other models had paid £1,400 and not to discuss what I had paid with them.He is basically a greedy person cashing in on this procedure. I believe he had rented out a room in a london cosmetic hospital Harley street to add to all the "believe in me" stuff. He has since sent me through steroids and ibuprofen ( I received them Thursday 11/8/16 but he "forgot " to put in any instructions on quantity to take or how often ! I am not taking the steroids as I dont like the sound of taking them, however I had been taking 200mg ibuprofen before he sent me the 400mg ones. Last night I took two of the 400mg and within an hour my vision went blurry and my stomache was hard and bloated, in all I felt quite ill. Im now not taking anything.
Im massaging my face from nose to ear with bio oil twice a day for 2 minutes a time to help try dissolve these alien things in my face. Ive been told it is going to take maybe up to 9 months to look normal again. In the mean time my youngest daughter gets married in December so Im just hoping there will be major improvement by then. :-(

You're going through hell right now and I really feel for you because I've been there and couldn't eat or sleep due to the huge anxiety it was causing me, wishing I'd never done it and wishing I'd gone to a different doctor...these all consuming thoughts constantly ruminating, too sad and shocked to even cry. I felt exactly the same the first time around because it's so difficult to see yourself in that way and so easy to imagine you'll never recover or never be able to face anyone ever again.
But it WILL get better, even the botched up threads recover, it's so different to actual surgery, once you're cut that's it.
In saying that you should still consider a refund at the very least for the fact you will have a longer than expected recovery and don't have the results you have paid for.
The bio oil will definitely help to smooth out your skin, release the tension on the threads and disperse the collagen evenly. This is important as it builds around the threads very quickly in the early stages of recovery.
-Also drink lots of water, really helps bring down the swelling.
-Keep taking arnica tablet form
-And also apply arnica gel/cream every hour or so to bruises.

I'm on Day15 now, still patchy yellow bruising and still some swelling, I'm juicing celery and cucumber daily, powerful natural diuretics and I think that's the reason I've recovered faster this time around. Doctor gave me ibuprofen, paracetamol and metronidazole but i didn't take any of them, too pernicious, unless you've an infection your body's own defence system is perfectly capable of healing you from this sort of procedure and you'll feel better for it... So, well done for ditching the steroids!!

Well I hope I've helped in some way, it's a horrible time for you and I just wanted to offer you some reassurance that even some Doctors can't seem to manage purely because they don't understand, haven't been through the recovery process or procedure and in most cases haven't seen enough results to give you any real constructive advice.

Keep posting, I'm really interested to know how you're doing and hopeful of a more positive outcome in the weeks ahead.

Stay positive and don't worry about other people or what they think, this is about you and the need to really look after yourself right now.

Sending my very best wishes

Monica

Thank you so much to everyone being so supportive, I am genuinely really touched that there are people out there who do care about others.
I am writing a letter to the person who did this to my face and once he responds with a positive outcome of paying me back ( or not) which ever the case I will declare who he is and where he works. At the moment Ive been told not to incase it goes to Court. I would urge anyone contemplating having this procedure to think again. I have never felt or looked so awful in all my life and would hate this to happen to anyone else.

i recently spoke with a doc who had procedure done on jowl - he was okay with result but said it will not last as long as stated- 1year but generally lasts 4 to 6 nmonths so he said it wasnt worth it in that regard and would not rec for his clients.

I had a string lift that was wonderful and I had a lot of bruising afterwards . But it lasted 14 years. I now have to get a real lift I don't want because they don't do these anymore. On your they didnt insert them right they should have put the entery in your hair line not in your check that they should fix. But, I had a board certified plastic surgeon do mine.
And, now he has to fix the one side or both with a mini lift. And, honestly I much rather have the string again!

PS you do know they took them off the market? And can't use them for years now! If anything I would look into that.

So VERY SORRY. The 2 doctors (Beverly Hills/LA area) mentioned previously have a tv show called "Botched." U s/contact them, tell them ur story & about ur daughter's wedding & send photos. MAYBE the show can absorb costs. These two fix so many of other doctors' botched surgeries...they that good. Good Luck!
