Dr Alan Kingdon. Stepping into this "doctor's"...

Dr Alan Kingdon. Stepping into this "doctor's" office is a move I regret every second of every minute of every day. Literally. My life has completely been turned upside down and my looks will never be restored. My social life, confidence and basic love of life have been replaced by alternating feelings of rage, guilt and regret. I NEVER leave my house unless I have to anymore.

I once enjoyed an extremely fulfilling social life. I was actually almost overconfident regarding my appearance. But after a death in my family and subsequent depression I suddenly gained weight very rapidly. Betraying my lifestyle of health and fitness I sought results through cosmetic surgery. My very sharp and pronounced chin looked great at my normal body weight. But during this period of weight gain it did look a bit too sharp and unsightly. The doctor said he could take out the fat around the neck.. The "double chin" area. And also make the chin "appear" less upturned.

How many nights I've laid awake wishing I could be Sitting in that "doctor"'s chair.. again.. In my fantasies I would just run out there and then. Before he all but sucked out my chin and cheeks completely. "Nothing drastic" I kept reminding him. As a surgeon, it should be obvious that "less is more" and only fractions of a millimetre are all that are needed to alter the natural flowing angles and contours of one's face.

Dr. Alan Kingdon, like a toddler with sharp objects does not have this realisation. He eagerly went to work and took out the chin from every Which angle. It is now all but sucked out completely. And terrible gouges/scars under the chin as well as extreme saggy-ness where the fat was removed that cannot possibly be the result of 2 years of ageing.

After a total of 1 email expressing my dissatisfaction, and being allowed zero conversations with the doctor himself despite my many attempts (though thoroughly humiliated and yelled at by his clinical director Wendy) his office has blocked my emails and does not accept my phone calls. He did inform me in his Very brief and conclusive letter that the changes I've noticed hv nothing to do with the procedure and are the natural effects of ageing. (2-3yrs in the pix) Pls see for yourselves and let me know.

Due to lack of response or interest on the part of the doctor or his clinic, I have no choice but to inform everyone this way. Below photos are alternating before, after, before, after...

Hi there, welcome and thanks for sharing your experience with us.

I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience. The scarring in your after photos is definitely not what one would expect. Have you sought a second opinion? Do you know if revision surgery is a possibility?

Thx for your reply Kirsty. To be honest, I don't even know where to start looking at revision surgery. The experience has left me so wary of the whole process. I don't know how to weed out other sham doctors like Alan Kingdon, from actual, professional facial specialists. I hope you guys might help me with your suggestions. I don't want to be forever fighting a losing battle with cosmetic surgery. I hope to restore what was mine and then move on, forgetting the whole thing ever happened. Also, I googled "dr Alan Kingdon Review" and this article didn't come up. Another post on the same doctor did but mine did not. Any reason for this? Is there a way to have my post visible after a google search? Thx again

Regarding the Google issue. We're not affiliated with google, so things only show up once Google revisits each website (E.G. Google doesn't see new posts immediately). Once Google updates their system, then your post will most likely show.

The best thing to do regarding revisions is to do a thorough search of doctors. Here is a list of board certified Plastic Surgeons in and around the London Area. You should make sure that any doctor you visit is board certified, read reviews if you can, speak with former patients if you can (some office have lists of patients that are willing to share their stories). You should also make sure you have consultations with several doctors before you choose one.

Your article did come up when I researched Dr Alan Kingdon, about 3 times actually. This is how I came to be on this website.

You poor guy. Dr Alan Kingdon. Noted. Was doing some research and going to book a consultation. Not anymore. what did they say when you showed them this? You should call the police. Or sue him. Good Luck

Hi. In his long awaited (2-3yrs) response, if you can believe it, dr Alan Kingdon claimed to have "carefully examined the pictures" and deemed "the changes I've noticed" to be the results of the "natural ageing process". Then continued "you have an obsessive nature and its sometimes difficult to be patient with you." He must be an extremely talented judge of character because he was able to determine this about me after FINALLY reading a single email, and not once having a conversation with me since procedure. Although I've tried and tried and tried.

Natural aging? Obsessive? This is upsetting to read. How are you now?

I also had surgery with Dr Alan Kingdon and would NEVER recommend him to anyone. I had the same procedure back in 2001 and wish I had told people about him before so you may have been saved the agony of what you had to go through. Don't give up, there is always professional help out there and a way to get the look that you want. I have posted my experience with Dr Alan Kingdon on this website but it hasn't been published yet. When did you get this procedure done?
February 27, 2013
Hi matt. Yes he's ruined my life. I had "the procedure" in 2009. The most enraging part is his utter dismissal of me. That's why, at the risk of my own embarrassment and exposure, I'm willing to post my pix and somehow "go public" on him. If there's a way we can work together (perhaps get more people with similar experiences) to expose this sham doctor, I'm very much willing. Were you able to find a solution in your case? Anyone to clean up the mess he made? I'd appreciate any advice. I hope you are able to see the mess he made of me in the pix I posted?? In his single brief email to me, which took him 3yrs to send, he claimed the changes are natural. (Then, more or less, told me he's very busy and to leave him alone).

The most shocking thing is that after my procedure for exactly the same procedure in 2001 and with what went wrong with it he has performed the operation AGAIN with you! I am almost speechless, what on earth is wrong with this guy?

Hi thesismenow! Hope you are doing okay. How did that follow up go? Any resolution on this problem? I too rushed into a bad decision in choosing a crap surgeon. Like you have been botched through excessive liposuction. It's amazing how many times I too have fantasised about running out of the office and avoiding the botched procedure. It's like reading my own thoughts there. Lucky for me it's on my body where I can sort of hide it with baggy clothes and I have a supportive husband who loves me regardless. I can understand how absolutely horrendous it would be if this botch was on my face. I agree he did a crap job but if it's any consolation, you still have great bone structure. From the pictures I think you still seem like a very good looking guy.
