Dr. Somji takes everything into account in the surgery his attention to detail is second to none and he really has a great team that know what they are doing. After a few poorly planned consultations by other surgeons I was refreshed to hear about my friend’s positive experience with Dr. Somji so I decided to book in to see him. He takes his time in the consultation and explained that he can only give me a realistic outcome and not promise the world (in contrast to everyone else) I hadn’t realised how much hair I had lost but it was mostly at the front I noticed a lot of thinning. He recommended 2500 follicles based on looking at the thickness of my hair and the average number of hairs I had in each follicle which I think was sensible. Given I am a doctor myself I was confident to go ahead with him given his reputation and honesty. The surgery was actually a very enjoyable day. Dr. Somji saw me at 7.30 in the morning and greeted me with a decaf coffee he then trimmed my hair and introduced me to the team for the day. The local anaesthetic injections were no where near as bad as I have read from previous reviews on this site as he uses distraction vibration devices which really really helps! I was allowed to look at my follicles under the microscope which was cool and then the follicles were implanted. Dr. Somji took about 45 minutes to get my hairline just right and really made an emphasis on making sure I got the density I wanted. He also physically showed me the follicles he took out of my scalp focusing on finding follicles with more hairs and better quality. I was given a total hair count rather than a follicle count. This is the complete transparency that Dr. Somji is so keen to tell patients about. He told me the reason why he gets good results is because he measures the thickness of the hair as well as focusing on the number of hairs rather than follicles. It was difficult to get my head round at first but I see what he means. It’s now 9 months on and my results are pretty drastic to say the least. I couldn’t be happier! He really is truly worth all the praise he gets not to mention his amazing team !
