How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

So I have had a lower transconjunctival...
So I have had a lower transconjunctival blepharaplasty and fat transfer to the face. Initially I just wanted the fat transfer to the area under my eyes (tear trough) / temples but was persuaded that I needed full facial fat transfer & the bleph. I had eating issues growing up, which I'm now totally over, but my face was left quite hollow.
So I am 3.5 days out and at the moment can barely recognise myself. A lot of the bruising under the eyes is fading well. I started taking arnica and bromelain a week before the procedure. I usually bruise terribly and take a while to heal, so this is quite fortunate. There are newer fresh pink bruises around my right eye lids, however, and I'm unsure why.
The doctor gave me tobradex (which I started 2 days before) and Celebrex - enough for 3 days after. Importantly & contrary to lots of other posts I've read, I was told definitely not to ice areas, as it could effect the fat transfer. Many times before the procedure he suggested that I would need a follow on top up... although at the minute I can't imagine that at all.
So I can't really recognise myself at the moment. I just look fat. My lips and eyes look disproportionately small and I feel miserable. I wanted to look refreshed not podgy & I am in quite a bit of pain.
Fat transfer is not a walk in the park. I'm day 4 and can't imagine wanting to see anyone for weeks. I must still be quite swollen as it's hard to make any facial movements at all. Smiling hurts, for instance. I want the fat put into my face/swelling to dissipate by at least 70%. He did suggest I might want some put in my lips but I said no, as they were big enough already (they were my best natural feature, I'd say), however, they look rubbish at the moment.
Not posting photos or making a decisive judgement yet, as aware this is still a work in progress. I was told that I would start to like the results at around 3 weeks but that even then the fat would still dissipate and that my final result would be the one at 3 months.
All I can say is that there is one heck of a lot of downtime with this procedure.
At the moment I am really worried people are going to laugh.
On the plus side, I was really worried about the potential of going blind, as a lot of fat needed to go around the eyes / forehead - but I had a very experienced surgeon who I trusted.
I will update with the surgeon's name etc, when I feel that I can write a proper outcome review ....at the moment I am, perhaps, just venting my anxieties. I'm pretty miserable.
