Don't Do Fraxel. London, GB

ORIGINAL POST

I had stop doing fraxel after my second treatment,...

$1,500
I had stop doing fraxel after my second treatment, and I regret it so much. I had the laser treatment at Skn Clinics, 144 Harley Street, London by Dr Benedetta Brazinni. She told me the redness will come down within 3 weeks, but the photo I have attached was taken 4 months after I had my last session. It was a painful experience and she was very aggressive with the laser.

I have come to one of the best skin clinics in the UK and I was supposed to look better, not worst. She even prescribed me Mirvaso Gel to treat the redness but it made my skin even worst and more red. I was supposed to start a new fresh life and meet new people but I spent most of my time staying home and lock in my room. I refuse to go to university sometime, I had avoid a lot of eye contact and I made so many excuses to avoid going out with friends. I had to wear make up just to disguise the redness so I can feel a little more confident with myself. But I hate wearing make up, I am just not used to it because I am a guy and I hate waking up in the morning applying make up. I felt really depress that I had end up buying cigarettes, and had caught chest infection twice. When I do my exams, or go to sleep, I still think about Dr Brazinni.

There are so many things I want to write, and I just want to say I regret it so much! The amount of money I spent just seeing her, and beg if she could do anything! I still have the red marks on my face and it has calm down, but I still end up wearing make up.

Don't do fraxel!

Thank you for sharing your experience, I hope that you find some support here. Please keep us posted on your next steps.

I am very sorry for what has happened to you. My experience is much the same as yours. I am just now getting to the point (after 9 months) where make up will hide my scars. Do NOT smoke cigarettes. This can make things worse. DO take mass quantities of Fish Oil and Vitamine C and drink tons of water. Keep your face hydrated, at all times. Sometimes, when the pain of the burn is so bad, I take Milk of Magnesia and wet a cotton ball with it and swab my face with it. It also tightens the face, which is ironic, because I did Fraxel to tighten my skin. There are so many tricks I've learned, here, and by trial and error that can help. It might sound ridiculous, but if you can, immerse yourself into a very complex project. If I hadn't done so, around month 3-4, I think I may have taken my life. These frauds, who do this to us, go about their lives, spending our money, without a care in the world. I was embarrassed and shamed myself for being such a vain person, in the first place. You did NOTHING wrong! Don't punish yourself. You're better than that. You can use this website for support and community, but don't let it consume you, because it can. I tell people that I had an allergic reaction to medication. For some reason, that made me feel better about my shame and embarrassment. A month or two ago, there was a gentleman from Cork, that also had a severe reaction to Fraxel. Bravo to you, that you actually listed the clinic and the practitioner who did this to you. By doing so, maybe even one person will be saved from this. Good luck to you
Thanks, I just regret it so much. I wish I had a patch tests, perhaps this wouldn't had happened to me.
There are some tinted sunscreens that may offset the red in your face, while protecting you from further damage. If anyone notices, you could truthfully say that you have hypersensitive skin and are just trying to protect it from the sun's rays. I really do have sensitive skin which will turn beet red if I ski or sail without SPF30. I know you are depressed, but please don't skip your college classes because of this. It will subside in time.
Hi please send me a message had my Fraxel too but last three weeks still the pinkish and redness is there what will I do please anyone help me here
There are a couple products that helped me with the burning irritation. They are from a company named Avene. Avene Therma Spring Water is great for cooling your skin down. I kept it by my bedside, my desk and my couch, at home. Because it's a mist, it wasn't practical for me to carry it with me to work and spray my face, but it was great for at home. I also found that making a mask of milk of magnesia and swabbing that with a cotton ball was cooling. The next two creams I alternate, based on how my skin is responding...Avene Tolerance Extreme Cream and Avene Skin Recovery Cream. I purchased these online, through Amazon. My physician claimed I was "slow to heal". You've probably heard that from your doctor. Then she told me that everything was "fine". The day I fired her (3 months post fraxel) was the day I started feeling better, emotionally. It was like I took my power back. I then sought the opinion of a plastic surgeon and a new dermatologist. I never intended to have surgery and still don't, but their support is a godsend. They validated that I had severe issues going on and prescribed some medications, for my skin, which have helped a great deal. Aside from these two new doctors and this forum, I have not discussed this with family or friends, which probably doesn't help. If your friends know about your Fraxel procedure, lean on them. You are only human. It DOES get better, though. Don't let Dr. Brazzini distract you from your studies. Tell yourself NO! Cry when you want to cry, then, pull it together. I used to scream, in my car, at the top of my lungs, to just get it out. One day, this will only be a footnote in your life.
