quick lazy update at 3 weeks!

Today is my 3 week anniversary of saying goodbye to my 16 year old plastic balls and I have to say I really cant believe how great I feel and how happy I am that I didn't replace the implants (which I definitely considered before deciding to just explant with my boyfriends persuasion and after seeing some of the amazing reviews on here)

I saw my surgeon Professor Andrew Baildam at St Barts hospital London (spelt his name wrong on initial review) last week for my final check up and
I discovered that my left implant was leaking, slimy and disintegrating badly!!!,

Also my scar capsule around the leaking implant was calcified (where it goes all rigid, basically non pliable and icky, he showed me pictures. truly gross!!)

So it was a good job they took these out. No leak showed on the MRI or ultrasound that I had previous to having these out!!!.

It just goes to show. Just because there is no massively obvious leak showing on a scan doesn't mean the implants cant rupture with silicone gel slowly oozing out into our surrounding tissue doing who knows what to our bodies in the process

Have enclosed a very lazy picture I have just taken (You can see what I mean by lazy as I just pulled the sports bra up and snapped with my laptop camera ha ha)

I have zero pain now. Scar sometimes itches, feels a bit funny but no biggie

On a final note, a recent comment someone sent me about being bullied made me think of something.

I was bullied badly all through my school years and this may account for my poor body image and feeling the need to basically mutilate myself and get plastic balls in my chest in the bid to feel beautiful and desired.

I was already beautiful. Such a shame I didn't see it at the time and such a shame other young girls don't either.

It's a wonderful thing for us to take back control of our bodies, our health and self esteem and get rid of these horrible toxic bags and learn to love our beautiful selves as we are!

The most attractive quality we can possess is to be aware of our flaws and love ourselves regardless of our supposed "imperfections"

Sometimes the very thing we hate about ourselves, the gap in our teeth, the lopsided smile, the bump on our nose, our saggy, non existent or large breasts and belly that sticks out, to someone else can be our most endearing physical quality.

Beauty is subjective, its in the eye of the beholder and shines from within and so we need to love yourselves ladies and don't forget to smile,

because when we do both, thats when we become truly beautiful.

:)

Pictures at 2 1/2 weeks! no pain

Hi Ladies.

So thought I'd upload some new pics.

Sorry the iphone doesn't give the sharpest picture.

May ask my boyfriend to take some better ones at week 3.

Pain is completely gone! in fact the worst of the pain was gone by day 4. then it was pretty tolerable anyway.

My boyfriend tells me that my natural breasts are way better then my implants. He definitely prefers them and so do I! :)

All my girl friends who I have shown do also and my sister agrees. They all said they cant believe how god they look considering I have had the implants in for so long.

I really do feel lucky. I think they are pretty cute and it feels lovely to be all natural again. yes I have always had big nipples by the way and one bigger than the other. I think a lot of women have that.

Have my first appointment with the surgeon who performed my explant tomorrow.
Going to thank him for doing such a good job and have a few questions to ask.

Let me know what you think?
