It took me about 20 months to loose 55 lbs and while I was very please with my accomplishment I still had some areas that I just couldn't seem to get rid of. I am fairly active. I bike long distances and walk, play tennis and golf. So I get a fair share of exercise. I was told you can tone muscle but you can't tone skin. By the way I am 57 years old. So I had a tummy tuck and some lipo to my breasts to get rid of my man boobs. First of all being a man and doing something like this seemed out f the box for me but I really wanted to do it. I was very open with lots of people and my family seeking their opinion and thoughts. Surprisingly to me most everyone told me to "Go For It!" So I did and so glad that I did. You don't loose a lot more weight from a tummy tuck just a few lbs. So don't do it to loose a few lbs. But you tone up areas like muffin tops and love handles and fit into clothes much more comfortably. I now have a relatively flat stomach. I must say it gives me a bit of confidence. Dr. Paul Lowenstein did my surgery and I think he did a great job. He was and is very pleasant and very honest. Without any hesitation I would definitely recommend him. I was surprised that I did not have immense pain after the surgery. Certainly there is discomfort but I did not experience excruciating pain like I thought I would. I did however experienced a very numb feeling in my middle section after the tummy tuck. I have been wearing a compression vest which was provided to me after the surgery and that does definitely make me feel better. I expect to be wearing that for some time. It is now 4 weeks since my surgery and I do get wore out a little sooner in the day than before but over time I am sure things will get back to normal. I expect it to be few more months before I am back to or near 100%. But I went back to work shorter days almost within a few days after coming home from surgery. But I could see where people would take more time before doing so. In any event an in my opinion it was definitely worth it and I would do it again in a heart beat. Thank you Dr. Lowenstein.
