I am thrilled with my buccal fat removal results and I haven't even seen the final results yet! After reading several fantastic reviews about Dr. Mesa, I decided to schedule my consultation. Dr. Mesa and his staff are extremely professional and answered my questions thoroughly. His New Jersey office (he also has an office in New York) is state of the art. I was able to view pics of others who also received the buccal fat removal. Dr. Mesa and I decided that I would best benefit from Buccal Fat removal in combination with Lipo of the neck. I scheduled the appointment for my procedure, which took place right in his office.
Prior to the procedure, nurse Christina reviewed what to expect with me and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure was painless. I did experience swelling and some discomfort while healing, but nothing outside of what they prepared me for. I was back to work in a couple of days.
I am now about 5 weeks out, and I am already loving the results. If you are considering having this procedure done, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Mesa. Although there are other cosmetic surgeons closer to me, I drove two hours see Dr. Mesa and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I have already scheduled my next procedure, and I look forward to continuing working with Dr. Mesa to achieve my goals.

Thanks so much. I had very full cheeks as well. Maybe this procedure would be a good for for you. It looks like you have good cheek bones. Buccal fat removal complimented with some filler injected into the cheekbone area produces some great results. And neither has slot of down time involved in terms of recovery. Maybe that would help you reach your goals...

There are some different types of filler. But Voluma last the longest, about two years...

Hello Everyone! I just had my 3 month follow up appointment with Dr. Mesa. My recovery process has gone so smoothly and the results have exceeded my expectations. I've posted some new after photos, as well as an additional before photo for people to see the previous fullness in my face as a comparison.
I am still planning to get Voluma from Dr. Mesa for my cheeks but I need to put that on hold at the moment for financial reasons. Even without the Voluma - I think the results speak for themselves and really attest to Dr. Mesa's talent and abilities.

You look gorgeous, every time I see your pictures I say "damn,how people can change just by removing the fat in the cheeks.
I don't really know what Voluma is but just by looking at your pictures I wouldn't do anything else (at least for now) if I were you.
Your face looks smooth,contoured, very pretty.

Hi,
I would like to ask you if during the surgery you were breathing thru your nose or the mouth?
I'm asking you this because I do have sinusitis and sometimes I can partially breath thru my nose and I have to breath using my mouth as well

No problem! I was breathing through my mouth during both the bucca fat removal and the neck lipo. I don't recall it being necessary at any point to close my mouth and breathe through my nose.

I know some have expressed they regret their decision because of looking gaunt in the future. Dr. Mesa addresses this in the consultation and explains whether you personally are a good candidate for this procedure. Like you mentioned, I had big chipmunk cheeks. I was a good candidate for this. And you might be too! I'm excited for you to possibly get this done. I couldn't be happier with the results.
