I had an unfortunate experience with getting very poor reconstructive implant surgery after a mastectomy that left me quite deformed. Dr. Redstone diagnosed the problem and with his wonderful office staff assistance, got me seen for pre-op testing, dealt with my insurance company, and scheduled for the DIEP flap reconstructive surgery within a month. He was very honest and open about the surgery and it's pros and cons, risks and benefits. The surgery is very tough, there is no question about it, and my down time was long, due to some complications. Unlike many surgeons, when complications happened, he and the staff were right there with me, supportive, professional, and never gave up. I went back to work within 4 months and have continued to improve and get stronger. Dr. Redstone and office staff are as wonderful today as they were from the beginning. I'd be happy to talk to any prospective patient about the process.

Dr Redstone refused to do a Diep flap for me even though I had a radiated breast after a lumpectomy. He did implants and I woke up with a hematoma on radiated side.He sent me home from the hospital without addressing the problem. Joel was also absent when needed during an ER visit while the doctor was on vacation. Totally pompous doctor who was arrogant, uncaring, and aloof to me as a patient. I needed two more surgeries to correct the mess he made ( while he vacationed) as well as a huge infection that almost killed me.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Would you be comfortable sharing photos of your results, perhaps even "before" shots?
Along with the DIEP flap, did you have also have implants or no?
