I have always had crowded teeth, however it has...

I have always had crowded teeth, however it has never really bothered me too much. However I had started to notice my teeth looking more crowded, and the front two teeth crossing over very slightly. I had considered getting a retainer made just so they didn't move anymore, but just decided to go all out and get braces!

I had a couple of consultations, but mostly with "business managers". Tracy Bell was the only clinic that allowed me to see the practitioner, who was able to tell me exactly what needed to be done, how it could be done and how much it would actually cost - instead of a rough guess from someone not qualified! The total cost was £3000 and this price was all-inclusive.

The whole process moved fairly quickly, I had the consultation, decided I was happy with Tracy Bell being my provider, and got my braces on very quickly (I think it was around 3 weeks after my consultation). I paid upfront and it was super quick and easy, no problems whatsoever with payment.

Braces themselves are fine, I had very little irritation and rarely had to use the wax. The first 2 months after my braces I could not eat normally, I had lots of porridge mashed potatoes etc. But you could definitely eat normally if you want to push through the pain! I have an extremely low pain tolerance, and I found the braces bearable. The tightenings were extremely uncomfortable and sets you back to square 1 with eating! But again, bearable.

Was impressed with the progress, 9 months I think I had them on for. I am now in clear invisalign-style retainers to finish up a few teeth that just need tweaking slightly. I am SO GLAD I went for metal braces and not invisalign. It is beyond painful, and even worse as you have to inflict the pain on yourself! You can't eat or drink anything with them in, they stain ridiculously easy and you are constantly brushing your teeth. I'm sure I'll get used to them, but I'm so glad I only have a short time in invisalign-style retainers! And obviously I'll have to wear a normal clear retainer after this adjustment process is over!

I was often late for

I'm fairly happy with the results so far, I just want the final tweaks done! Also hopefully will get them whitened with Tracy Bell.

James is a fantastic practitioner, he always listens to you, gives you all the options and is very friendly. He also dealt with me turning up in my very unprofessional gym gear.... He did my consultation and I was convinced he could do exactly what I wanted in the time scale I wanted, and I am so glad I picked him and this practice!
