My breasts were always on the small side but even after breastfeeding two children, they were fairly perky and firm. Being a chunky person probably added a good deal to that. Then I went on a weight lose journey that has ultimately changed my life. Turns out I was gluten intolerant and upon removing this from my diet, I shed 50 lbs in 6 months. I also shed my breasts. They went from okay to nothing. It was horrifying. So, after much research and deliberation, I decided on Dr Slenkovich for augmentation surgery. They were professional, courteous and above all respectful of my needs, before and after. I had a rare side effect after surgery where my breasts became hypersensitive to any touch. Even the shower was excruciating. Dr Slenkovich called me back almost immediately and explained what was happening. Together we worked out a plan to give me some relief. All in all, I love my new look. It superseded my expectations based in the 3D imaging we did prior and I am completely satisfied with my experience.

Congratulations on the weight loss and your new breasts! What type and size implants did you get to achieve your new look? Just curious what type of treatment did you do for your post op hypersensitive breasts?

Rarely I will see hypersensitivity require medical treatment with Neurontin or Lyrica, and if symptoms are causing a real problem that we can't otherwise control, I will discuss this option. I can't recall a patient with breast surgery requiring these medications, however. While very uncommon overall, I have most often see painful hypersensitivity with a full armlift procedure in someone that has very significant excess skin of the arms, although it is possible with other procedures.
