He got rid of the bags under my eyes and vertical lines
So Happy!
Having always taken good care of my skin (no sunbathing, religious SPF use) I always looked younger than my age. Until I hit 41, all of a sudden my face seemed to be melting. I got bags under my eyes and all kinds of vertical lines and shadows I didn’t have before. I was so unhappy with this, I was almost considering a facelift or at least an under eye correction. I constantly looked tired whilst sleeping well and people were asking if I was ok. But reading reviews on realself.com led me to the possibility of a thread lift or liquid facelift. I found a clinic with good reviews and booked a consultation. I was kind of expecting a doctor pointing out all my flaws but I was very happily surprised! He immediately said a tread lift was going to cost me a lot of money, but sagging wasn’t my issue so it wouldn’t help much with my main complaint: the ‘melting’.
Due to stress I recently lost some weight quickly, (I never had a ‘big’ face, even when overweight) and for some reason my body decided after 40 it wasn’t going to restore any facial fat. He explained the loss of volume in my cheekbones caused the skin under my eyes to fall out more, some filler would correct that. He said I could also do my jawline and tear through a but recommended skipping that to see if my cheekbones alone would do the trick. I only have some wrinkles in my forehead and I have a tendency to keep my eyebrows permanently raised (see first before and after pictures before the botox kicked in), so I decided to do Botox in my forehead as well.
A week later I got 2,8 ml Stylage injected in my cheekbones, it didn’t hurt much at all but I wasn’t really prepared for the scraping against my bones so I was happy we we’re done quickly. The botox didn’t really hurt either. And he was right, the filler in my cheeks was enough to get rid of the whole tired look. I was so happy from the first second I looked in the mirror! I didn’t need to look 20, I wanted to look like me again. I am so much more confident, almost nobody noticed I had something done, most thought I was just very well rested from my vacation.
At my follow up appointment two weeks later, the last 0,2 ml was used for some minor corrections and we decided to skip the jawline and tear throughs for now. I might consider my tear throughs next time, but the location (ouch) and the possibility of the filler moving downwards scare me a bit. I’m definitely going to keep doing my cheekbones and forehead, I never thought a half teaspoon of filler could make such a difference!
