So far so good...

WORTH IT$8,500
things have been going pretty smoothly for the most part. I am dealing with some swelling in my lower back and lower abdomen still. My lower back is still pretty hard and numb in some places so I know there is more healing to do there. My lower abdomen pretty much has its feeling back and the area has softened up so I’m hoping that the little pooch that’s left is swelling and it will go down as well. I’m slightly concerned about that area but overall my results are amazing. I’m beyond happy with everything else. The only visible scars I have are on my upper back and I’m hopeful they will heal in time. The other scars were place so well that I cannot even see them…even if I look for them. I’ll take a picture of the scars for my next update. I’m still wearing my compression garment 24/7. I don’t really mind it…I’ve gotten used to having it on. I had to order another one because my first one was getting too big. I’m planning to wear it up until my 3 month check up and then maybe only at night? We’ll see how things go. I’m hoping to be all set and ready to go by summer. I lost about 5 inches in my waist and I am down about 13lbs. I haven’t been working out…just started walking on the treadmill yesterday. Trying to build myself back up to get back to yoga but I’m still pretty stiff and tingly. I’m not on a strict diet but I have given up red meat and fast food. I’ve limited my alcohol intake as well. Other than that I’m conscious about what I eat and how much I eat but not a “diet” per say. I want this to be a lifestyle change so I’m not doing anything too drastic that I won’t be able to continue to do for years to come. Thanks for all the comments and questions…I’ll continue to update.

You look amazing! I am 5’9” 170lbs, so we have a very similar body type. I’ll be having lipo and BL with BA in June. I’m hoping that my waist looks nice and tiny like yours!

I love your results. we have a similar body shape as well. i had a cool consultation with Dr Shifrin last year and decided to do more research because I thought he was pricey. at that time he was only $7500 for lipo. but I haven’t found anyone in Chicago to match his results and I don’t have anyone to travel to Miami with me. I’m considering Shifrin again. do you think he’s worth the price tag? how long before you were able to return to work? how long were you in pain? thanks so much

thank you so much! I love Dr Shifrin and Dr West. They have been great through this whole experience. He is on the pricey side but if I had to do it all over again I would still choose him! I took 2 weeks off of work. I think he’s pretty aggressive w his lipo which is good but I was in a lot of pain afterwards. I’ve seen others that were able to go back a couple days later but there was no way that would have worked for me. I needed help to even get out of the bed until like Day 5. The only pain I have now is getting up from sitting and laying on my back initially. Once I lay down I’m ok. Also most of my back and stomach are still numb but that’s normal. Hope this helps. Let me know if u have any other questions. Good luck with ur journey!

Taylormade35 - I also used Dr. Shifrin after considering Miami, and I’m so glad I stayed. This is a serious surgery and you don’t want to be out of state or alone. Dr. Shifrin’s work is great and yes, it’s certainly not cheap, but it’s worth it. I took 1.5 weeks off and that was a mistake. I needed 2 whole weeks. I still went to work after 10 days and was very weak. It’s not worth it

There is hope! I remember getting really frustrated about 8-9 weeks in. I was over it! And it felt like forever. Then all of a sudden it’s like time started moving so quickly, like I reached a turning point and never looked back and I’ve just continued to look better and better ever since. Hang in there ;-)
