I finally scheduled my liposuction procedure for Next Friday at 7:30am. I’ve been doing my research for some months now and decided to go with Dr. Schaffer. Out of all doctors I’ve had consultations with he was the most experienced and left me feeling comfortable that he could achieve the results I desire. My mom and bf will be helping me as I recover.
My pre-op was yesterday where I signed my consent forms. The nurse (I can’t think of her name :/) was sooo sweet and made me feel even more comfortable since this is my first major procedure. She even gave me a hug when I left bc I feel she felt my worry. She then sent me across the street to get my blood drawn and lab work performed. It was super painless.
I’m so excited. I have a week and half left until my procedure. I can’t wait. I will keep you all updated.

Make sure you get a wonderful lymphatic massage provider quickly as soon as you get up and moving. If you can a week after your procedure to get all the swelling and pain reduced quickly

I did it! Post-surgery update!

Hi guys, I had my lipo surgery this morning Dr. Schaffer. I did the lipo of the upper abdomen, lower abdomen, flanks and lower back (I added this area at the last minute. In all I spent about $5500.

As soon as I got in the nurses gathered my updated paperwork and took me to the pre-surgery room to undress and to get my vitals. They also when ahead and inserted the IV, it was super quick and painless. Soon after that the anesthesiologist came in and asked me allergy questions before Dr. Schaffer came in. I was not nervous at all.

When Dr. Schaffer came in, he took out a marker and marked all over my body where was going to be performing surgery. After that I set bAck in the chair and it was time for the anesthesiologist to come in and insert the medicine to get me feeling good :) the medicine didn’t have me dizzy or anything I felt like I had one too many drinks lol. I was then instructed to lie down on the operating table with my head up. Next thing you know, the mask was on and I was knocked out.

About 3 hours later, I was in a completely different room lying down with a black garment on that covered my incisions and came all the way down to mid-thigh area. My pain at this time was about a 7 out of 10. On top of that I was shaking sooo bad from the anesthesia for about 30-40 mins. I was then put in a wheelchair and pushed to where my mom met me. I was kind of nauseous for a little after the surgery but luckily the office was like less than 5 mins from my apartment and so as soon as I got home I had my mom lie down and fix me some chicken noodle soup and give me my nausea medicine and hydrocodone for pain.

As far as pain 12 hours post op, I am not in excruciating pain which I am happy about I’m me. My pain Is feeling like a 6 out 10 .. Yes, I am sore but not to the point where i am miserable. The worst part for me is the super scratchy throat I have from the breathing tube in. Other than that, I’ve been getting up and going to the restroom with little to no help. I even got up out the house to walk my puppy for a few mins but I am keeping up with taking my pain meds as I need to.

My food intake, is mainly chicken noodle soup and smoothies as of now bc my mom ordered a pizza and soon as I took a bite I was feeling like I had to throw it up.

I am FaceTiming Dr. Schaffer tomorrow so he can see how I am doing and feeling and determine when I can take a shower.

I will keep you all updated during this process. I will post pics tomorrow.
Let me know if you have questions.

1 day post op!

Last night was kind of in & out of sleep bc I couldn’t get comfortable. I finally woke up around 7am and felt very stiff & sore. Dr. Schaffer called me on FaceTime to check up on me and instruct me on how to take my bandages off and shower which I thought was really nice of him. I’m swollen all over my abdomen, back, and flanks and it’s tender touch. I feel the most pain on my back side. However, I am liking my results so far!
