Talented Surgeon an Amazing Human!!
WORTH IT
I came to Dr. Kwon after encountering many compilations from a previous liposuction surgery on my calves with a DIFFERENT doctor. My main concern was over-suction of the fat in both of my calves but predominately my left one. It left them looking rather strange and uneven which was starting to affect my self esteem greatly. I went to several doctors and was told a few different things but the main response I was getting was that too much fat had been taken out and in order to fix it we needed to do a fat graft so, take fat from another area of my body and put it back into the areas that were over-corrected.
I decided to go with Dr. Kwon for a few reasons. The first and foremost being his extensive knowledge of the fat grafting procedure. He might be young but he is extremely well-versed in human anatomy and physiology, more specifically, cosmetic surgery. He told me in great detail what he was going to be doing during the procedure in a way that I could understand. He answered all of my questions and, trust me, I had a lot of them. I am a person that likes to know as much as possible about what is happening to my body and exactly WHY and HOW it's getting done (I even ask the dentist when he's cleaning my teeth -lol!). Dr. Kwon was able to answer all of my questions without hesitation and always had previous surgeries he could reference when explaining to me the process. This made me feel even more confident because I knew this wasn't going to be his first, second or even third time doing this.
Secondly, he treated me like a person. Not just a person but almost as a friend. I had to come to the office multiple times before and after the surgery (again, I have a lot of questions - lol) and he made all the time for me he could. He never made me feel like he was too rushed or busy to spend time with me. Plastic surgery is definitely not just a overwhelming physically, but emotionally as well, and Dr. Kwon demonstrated patience and compassion with whatever sentiments (wide-ranging) I brought with me that day.
Lastly, he kept it real with me and I respect that. He never told me my legs would be perfect but he gave a ballpark percentage of improvement I could expect overall. That being said, it has only been five weeks since my revision surgery and I already feel as though his work is exceeding my expectations. My legs are not perfect by any means, and are still healing, but Dr. Kwon got me to the point where I feel confident enough to not totally hide myself anymore. I have even worn shorts a few times recently!! To be candid there was a point where I couldn't imagine being naked around someone let alone showing my legs off in public.
Overall he is, as the title says, a truly accomplished and gifted surgeon as well as a wonderful human being. This surgery was not easy by any means. I even had one doctor tell me he would not operate on me because he did not think he could correct my legs to a standard he would be happy with, however, Dr. Kwon was willing to take on the challenge.
