Scheduled for tt in February 2022

Hello RSers! I'm just coming back to update the fact that I am scheduled for a tummy tuck in February 2022. While I appreciate the Lipo results I have been left with ripples on my stomach and loose skin. Mainly due to the fact I have had two children and now I am 51. The truth is, if you've had a pregnancy, your abdominal muscles separate and they do not go back without surgical intervention. So I continue to have a small pooch that sticks out making me sometimes look three months pregnant. Don't get me wrong, the Lipo reduced my lower stomach considerably. But I'm not flat like I wish to be. I've decided to hopefully take care of it once and for all. I am posting my journey if anyone cares to follow.

I went through the same journey. Knowing what I know now, I would have elected the tummy tuck the first time. My physician used a long acting pain med in my abdomen, so my post-op pain was minimal. I rented a lift chair which was beneficial in getting up to the bathroom. I also recommend preparing meals in advance. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Oh, thank you! I guess you have to learn through experience, lol. The only good thing I got out of it was a reduced tummy, but not flat, and one cup increase in my breast since I did breast fat transfer at the same time. I'm definitely asking for the exparel. It's an additional cost but I feel it is worth it! Also, where did you rent your lift chair from and do you remember how much it was to rent? I'm starting to look into renting them but I see you can purchase one for 300 to $400 on Amazon

Hello! Would you mind if I connected with you since I'm considering the same surgery with the same doctor?

I’m interested in abdominal lipo. I’ve put on weight in my midsection due to aging and hormones. I’m in my mid 40s and have never had children. I’m worried about loose skin after lipo. I hear it’s pretty common. I feel like TTs provide better results, but I’ve been told i don’t qualify for a TT.

How many surgeons have you seen? Genetics also play a role in loose muscles, not just having kids. Also, the older you are, the less elastic your skin. It's definitely tough getting older!!

I’ve seen several and all agree I am not a candidate for a TT. They all recommend lipo. I feel like the results of a TT are almost guaranteed a success, while abdominal lipo is risky due to unpredictable results..

You look great! How did it go?

Don’t you EVER! Let anyone touch your skin again with a knife. You are perfect!

I agree! I am 36, had 6 children and would kill for a body like that!

UPDATE! 1+ years since revision

lindyshellp
It has now been over a year since my liposuction revision. I got the revision to remove some residual fat that was in my belly area and he lipoed undeneth the breast area, a place he did not hit the first time around even though he had marked I up the 1st time. I had these little rolls under my breasts that really bothered me! I am overall happy with the revision. I'm approaching 51 and have had two children. I honestly probably could use a tummy tuck because I do have some loose skin now, but overall I am very satisfied with the procedure. The funny thing is I have definitely gained weight since the procedures. I don't know if that's a result of the procedures or just fat distribution elsewhere. Or mainly because I am in perimenopause approaching menopause! Either way I try not to stress too much about what the scale says and rather how my clothes fit. All in all I would say the surgery was worth it.

Thank you! I'm actually scheduled to undergo a tummy tuck in February 2022 this year. While I still appreciate the results, I have been left some with some ripples in my stomach area and loose skin. Mainly having due to having two children. I will be posting that journey as well!

You look awesome. I guess with the tummy tuck, you will get rid of those ripples that I saw on the pics but as you said are due to the loose skin. But you look superb in all ways.

You Look Great! How old are you? Docs I’ve spoken With have warned me that fat transfer is usually more successful for younger patients.

Did you run into and hardening or lumpy area(s)? If so, were you able to massage them out?

I actually still have some rope like areas in the back of my sides which I am still working on massaging. I'm hoping they go away with time.
