Less Than Desirable Results from Fun Sculpting

I received liposuction of my upper/ lower abdomen and lower back after a long battle to lose abdominal fat brought on by chronic stress. I thought it was my last option after trying everything including diet and exercise for years . My mistake was going to an unqualified provider who offered Fun Sculpting under local anesthesia. My spouse was very afraid of me having surgery and it caused me to become leary about it. I was told this was a safer alternative with a smaller cannula and a quick recovery. I fell for a marketing ploy. My procedure itself was painful and traumatic due to the aggressiveness of the person performing it. My recovery was very long and not fun at all. After 3 months, I still experience discomfort from time to time. Their follow up appointments have been for the sake of taking photos. They over liposuctioned me beyond our discussion, left big cannula holes that healed irregularly and my lower back wasn’t feathered into my hips. They told me I made a too big of a deal about slow healing lipo scars which ended up being friction burns. They alluded to me of having diabetes which I do not have. I was informed by a provider they see what I experienced all the time from them. I also have a couple of cannulation track marks and unevenness. I have an upcoming appointment with a board certified revision specialist in 3 months who hopefully will be able to fix irregularities in 12 months but it will take a long time before I’m emotionally healed from this. Oddly, I’ve started losing weight after this fiasco on my own. People look at me on the outside and say I look good but I’ve experienced a lot anguish that I wouldn’t have experienced by not taking this route. Don’t make the same mistake as me. Stay clear of doctors who are not plastic surgeons and do not give them a deposit of any kind.

Sorry that you had such an awful experience. Was this at a Med Spa? Was this from traditional liposuction? Or fun sculpting?

Undergoing Tummy Tuck after bad of lipo he by unqualified provider

I consulted a board Certified surgeon at 4 months regarding my abdomen. She thinks a tummy tuck will fix the contour irregularities and I agree. I trust this surgeon whole heartedly. Looking forward to putting this behind me.

Who did you consult with? I’m on the same boat right now trying to find a doctor I can trust and who is qualified to do a liposuction revision procedure.

I consulted a doctor in my area, but 2 doctors recommended a tummy tuck. I have muscle separation. I have loose skin that needs re- draping. I researched a lioo revision specialist in Dallas, Dr. Rod Rorich if you’re interested.

Did you also get lured into the Fun Sculpt fiasco? I feel like such a fool. It’s embarrassing to tell a doctor what I did. My op notes are a joke. It’s unfortunate the law allows this to happen.

No I didn’t so my research and gave a down payment to the first doctor I met with and as soon as they got my money they stopped showing they cared. The doctor performed overly aggressive liposuction on me and left me asymmetrical on my sides. I was so eager to get the procedure done I fell for the decent price tag of $3,000. Now I’m left with irregularities and regrets of not meeting with several plastic surgeons before making my decision. I do have a consultation with Dr. Steven svehlak and he’s known for liposuction revision but I’m still so scared to trust a doctor that’s not just in to for the money again.

I understand. I was going to this office for another thing and got suckered into this. I got busy and forgot to cancel. A lot of doctors are grappling for money due to insurance reimbursements are low; payments are based on the quality of healthcare they provide and establishing an electronic health record system, which is costly. Public safety is at risk. These procedures aren’t regulated like in hospitals and surgery centers. I’m going to contact my Congressmen to see what can be done to end it. People are spending savings trying to repair the damage caused by healthcare professionals who took an oath to do no harm. It’s not right. Most people want to trust their doctors. I needed a tummy tuck to begin with or nothing at all but they insisted I wouldn’t need one afterwards. I’ve always been a level headed person. This is so embarrassing. I just pray that I’m still healing and things will smooth over but the stress of knowing you potentially got botched isn’t worth it. What made me more scary is when I realized I knew more than the person who stood over my body with a lipo cannula.
