The final result

Realised I hadn’t updated in a while! So here’s the final result, it’s just coming up to a year and I’m SO glad I did it! Things definitely fit better and even though my weight didn’t change at all, my new distribution of fat is more flattering and my stomach’s stayed flat.

I won’t pretend there wasn’t time in between when I despaired a bit as I’d pinned by hopes to seeing the total final result in a shorter two months and I was always a bit afraid that maybe the results might end up stuck at mediocre. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case though it did take some time so really don’t worry if you don’t like the immediate results, it’s very normal as your body’s healing. As you can see from the earlier pictures, there’s a notable difference straight away but then the swelling kicks in. I was back to fitting into my normally fitting clothes within a couple of week and I looked smaller than I had done but the old shape was there a bit. This continued to shrink until it got the point where it largely slipped from my mind until I had that one day of waking up and seeing myself and thinking ‘wow...I look good’ so I’d say it took about 5 months before I saw my final results

The most amazing thing of all is that you had lipo but you don't have a single bruise in the days after surgery. Not even so much as an incision mark...... it's truly a miracle!

Day 5 and Pretty Swollen

generic_name
I’ve been sore and swollen for the last couple of days though the pain is pretty much exclusively in my lower abdomen (it’s a ‘ropey’ kind of hurt as if I can feel where the cannula went in). It’s not horrendous though - I still made it to the gym yesterday and did a full chest session so it’s manageable. I really can’t wait for it all to flatten out but I’m trying to be patient and not obsess about it. I feel this is almost the hardest bit tbh, the pain doesn’t really bother me too much but I’m so lumpy and swollen/bloated that a tiny bit of me is terrified it’ll stay like it!

It is early days though and I’ve been in touch with Dr Gupta with various questions so that’s reassuring. It’s just a waiting game at the moment so just going to have to stay busy and wait it out!

Second Day Post Op

Still can’t believe I actually did this - I’m so happy!

There’s some swelling today and after taking everything off for my shower this morning, I noticed my mons pubis area was pretty swollen but I had been warned about that (it’s from standing too much - gravity pulls everything down) so hopefully it’ll go down in a couple of days.

I did also have a slightly harder lumpy bit below my belly button which I wasn’t sure about so phoned the Dr to double check. He picked up almost immediately, talked through it all (it’s swelling from the trauma and quite normal) then told me to phone anytime I had a question which I really REALLY appreciate because it’s not like I have a wide pool of people to ask!

Other than that, I stopped draining by yesterday evening so just put a small pad over the lower incisions this morning in case there is any further leakage though I doubt it. The pain isn’t too bad - feels like the muscle soreness from a major weight lifting session after a break - though I took the pain killers last night before bed to make sure I could get comfy and get a good nights sleep.

I’m still wearing the compression garment and the belt and will probably wear them today and tomorrow. I’ve used waist trainers and corsets before so I’m used to the sensation but will admit having to wear them for so many days (and nights...mostly the nights) running is a pain - no idea how people having traditional Lipo put up with weeks of it!
