Poor Follow Up/lipo Issues

After lots and lots of research I chose Dr Jimenez as my surgeon. I ultimately chose him because he didn’t have any deaths and I wanted a natural BBL. My daughter also went and she chose him because he was one of few not recommending a tummy tuck vs lipo. I searched and searched for reviews but didn’t find a lot so I thought I would do a detailed review of my experience for others.

The correspondence back and forth before my arrival was great and detailed. I requested a video call with Dr Jimenez before arrival and they accommodated that. I didn’t have to do any preop test before arrival like most doctors make you do. This could be good and bad. It’s very convenient as it’s a pain requesting labs in the states especially when your doctor doesn’t agree with going abroad for surgery but it could be bad if you get all the way there only to find out you are pregnant or anemic and can’t have surgery.

Once we arrived all of the staff were very nice. We were given a bag with everything we needed after surgery. I felt they were very organized and put together. We then metwith Dr Jimenez. He took his time and explained everything. He didn’t try to push any other procedures and really made us feel at ease. My daughter was so nervous before hand and when she came out of his office she was smiling and looked like she had been lifted of rocks on her back. He really does put you at ease.

The night before surgery the anesthesiologist called me. He didn’t call my daughter. They seemed much more laid back there because he didn’t ask the normal questions that they ask other places. So make sure you know to stop eating and drinking etc before hand. Be responsible and quit your meds and anything else that you need to do before surgery because they do not double check. On the day of surgery I had to be there I think around 430 or 5. The anesthesiologist or nurse did not see me asking the million questions before surgery like they do in the states. I didn’t see him until I walked into the OR. But he did see my daughter before hers. He speaks perfect English and that made me feel better as Dr Jimenez doesn’t. Shortly after we arrived Dr Jimenez came in and marked me up and answered any last questions. That room had furniture falling apart and looked muck like a closet. This is when my nerves kicked in. I had my husband who speaks Spanish to ask him if the OR was updated. He assured us that it was. A few minutes later I walked to the OR. It wasn’t nearly as updated as other ORs I’ve been in but the equipment looked okay. I need to point out that I have had surgery and babies in many different countries so I am not only comparing to sleek US hospitals. Once I got into the OR I noticed bloody material in the trash can and then my mind went crazy wondering if the room had been sanitized after the last patient. Staff in the OR was handling equipment with no gloves and the lady who wiped me down with the coldest sanitizing solution also had no gloves. When I asked about this I was told every OR is different and I get that but after seeing the bloody trash can I became very uneasy.

I woke up in recovery very easy. I normally wake up with anxiety and very draggy but I didn’t this time and I appreciated that. The anesthesiologist was very nice to come see me and bring my daughter with him prior to her surgery. I knocked out again and when I woke up my daughter was there too as she had just finished her surgery. The only issue i had was really bad chest pain that the nurses told me was heart burn. After fixing my blown IV they wheeled us to our rooms. This is another reason I chose Dr Jimenez I loved that we got an overnight stay at the hospital. The staff were super attentive and friendly. I was still having really bad chest pain and they told me it was just heart burn and gave me meds. I ended up googling it and it was bc of my faja was too tight. The massage lady came super early and gave us our first massage and Dr Jimenez, the anesthesiologist and the nurse dropped by the check on us.

We went to our hotel early that morning and got to see Dr Jimenez about every other day. The massage lady couldn’t make it one day so we got our money back. We found another lady and honestly she did a better job and cost less. I would recommend doing your first 10 with his lady and then getting your own person. We did two a day on some days toward the end. We were there 21 days.

At about 7 days post op my daughter had very intense pain near her lipo incision. We notified the nurse and she wasn’t too concerned. Later that evening we noticed the area was red and she still wasn’t too concerned. The next night it was getting worse and I think she finally spoke to the doctor and got an antibiotic. She was still red up until we left but she healed fine but it was super stressful because all I could think about was if the OR was sanitized.

Both my daughter and I both had arm lipo and both of us have irregularities in our left arm. We asked the doctor about it on our last visit and was assured that it was just swelling. I messaged the nurse (see screenshots) at 2 months concerned about the deformity and she said swelling last 3-4 months. At 4 months I messaged her again and she said to see a doctor because it’s not plastic surgery related. Of course this made me very unhappy so I messaged Angelica and she told me the nurse misunderstood. I don’t believe this to be true. The nurse told me twice that she would set up video conference with the doctor but never contacted me back. I believe the nurse just dismissed our arm issues. I have yet to hear back from the doctor. Honestly I probably wouldn’t have written a review but I think it’s important for everyone to know how the nurse dismissed us post op.

I’ve also attached pictures of my before and after BBL. It doesn’t look like much change but there is some because my bathing suits and panties no longer fit. My crack shows now. I believe the fat was put too high and it makes my waist look straight with square hips. The scars for the bbl are large and show. I’ve always thought bbl scars go in butt cheek but these are on my hips.

I do not recommend using Dr Jimenez because of his nurse and because of the lipo issues that we have and poor follow up (due to nurse).

Pictures attached are 4, 6 and almost 7 months post op of both mine and my daughter’s left arm. Will post more pics when I can resize them to smaller.

Messages from nurse

These are the messages from the nurse telling me that my arm issues are not from plastic surgery. Apparently the nurse thought these were pictures of legs (even though I say arms and never ever discussed legs) so she was confused. The nurse never got back with me despite telling me twice that she would speak with the doctor.

BBL before and after pictures

Here are my BBL pics before and after. The after pics are the ones with the bruises. He only transferred 300ccs and I think I had 3 liters of liposuction.. I did ask for natural but wanted a little more change. I can tell some fat was places because my panties and swimsuits no longer fit correctly.
