Not What I Expected

If I’m completely honest I initially enjoyed my experience. Nurse Debby was very warm and welcoming Dr Ver Halen and staff were very kind and knowledgeable and made sure I understood the process. Day of my procedure my sister came in with me. Debby was out but Dr. Ver Halens wife assisted now I do believe some steps were missed because my sister was with me and some how had a mini consultation going on while I was supposed to be having vitals done. Next thing I know I was having my procedure but I was feeling every bit of it. I remember us waiting a bit because they said it can take a little time for the meds to kick in. After procedure I only assumed it was normal pain from Lipo/tuck. But pain never subsided after a week or so I was still in pain and went to the emergency room where they advised me that I had some leakage and treated me for the pain and advised me to follow up with my doctor. I then noticed my skin was black. Now I’m a brown skin girl but my skin was black as tar. Some how I got something that they said was necrosis. It was not fun it was painful skin eventually fell off and turned flesh color red and was now a large open wound. Dr. Ver halen did make sure he treated me and each visit but the pain was not good. Over a good period of time he would see little by little to close the wound. On my last visit he adv that he would assist with a scar revision when I was more comfortable. That was back in 2018 I have since reached out multiple times talked to front desk, talked to his wife but it’s like they won’t allow me through to speak with him so I’m assuming it’s not going to happen but yeah that was my experience.
