Lipo + a Lil BBL (With Photos)

I'm only 1 week post op, so I don't have final results yet, but I wanted to post because I had a very easy recovery and I think knowing that recovery CAN be easy will be helpful to someone. I was so scared of surgery it took me two years to actually go through with it, which now is so silly. So if anyone is as paranoid as me I'd like to share my experience.
I got: Lipo Abdomen, sides, back, hernia repair (belly button), scar revision on right leg (from an accident years ago). I'll do a separate review about my leg because that's a whole different project. It will take several sessions and etc. Also I got BBL, but in my case it was more for shaping rather than volume. More explanation below.
My surgery was last Tuesday, June 23rd 2020.
rolled into surgery around 11:30am, and woke up around 3pm.
Today, one week later, I have no pain at all. Some areas feel sore, but comparable to post work out, or like touching a bruise. I had a hard time
only the first 3 days.
Day 1:
the WORST and only scary part: waking up shivering. Your body is basically uncontrollably shivering and you can't do anything about it so it freaked me out a bit. Plus, you are in pain so the combination of the two is miserable. My hips really hurt (that's where the incisions are and I was leaking from them a whole lot). When I say it hurt, yes it hurt a lot, but it's not some unbearable pain. It's like really bad menstrual cramps: not unbearable just constant so you want it to stop and you kind of psychologically get tired of it. and think it hurts more The shivering stopped in about 30 mins. When it's happening your thoughts are like fuck I don't think I can do this, how am I gonna do this all day there is no way. ....but a good 30 mins and it stops.
I was checked on multiple times, the nurse was there very close, I never felt like I was just left alone or forgotten about. In fact,it's kind of embarrassing how much attention I received that day. The anesthesiologist was fantastic, I wish I could have him as my only anesthesiologist for the rest of my life lol
So anyways, then the nurse is like ok, your ride is here time to get up. The initial thought: "who is getting up?is she fkn serious?" lol and yet, she's right you are actually able to stand up and walk after this whole thing. I didn't feel nausea or lightheaded, when I got home walked around fine.
I had a caregiver I hired for two days. Don't do it. The lady was so so sweet, but absolutely not necessary and very expensive. You know how they say "love is free" and all that, no love can be free if someone is volunteering but if you order it its very expensive. For me it was $20 per hour the entire 24 hour period whether you are sleeping or not.
just get any decent human who doesn't mind helping you in the bathroom, will make sure you don't fall when walking around, and will have enough sense to call for help if you happen to have some emergency.
I didn't sleep that entire first night because I would get up and walk around all the time scared of getting a blood clot. No one needs to walk around as much as I did by the way. It was me being paranoid and obsessive.
Day 2
While day 1 attitude was: "omg I'm actually alive? it happened? this is easy! I can do this all day! I'm not even in pain (while high af)." Day 2 you actually feel all that swelling. I felt very stiff and sore, but with pain meds, it's not bad. I had the post op this day and I was happy, I was fine, I didn't need the caregiver to come with me, I took the stairs to the office on the 2nd floor since I don't like elevators. I felt happy.
Day 3
Same as day 2, no increase in pain, the pain is very well managed with the pills. The only thing is, because you are so constantly uncomfortable laying on your stomach and trying to position yourself you start to give up mentally so it seems like it hurts more. It doesn't hurt more, it's just like you are getting impatient at this point so everything is annoying and you don't know how the fuck you will do this for the next however long. Your neck is cramped, your back, ...so you got a bunch new pains, not because of surgery but because of horribly stiff sleeping position.
Day 4
I went to get a massage. I googled a place that specializes working with people who are recovering from this kind of surgery and gave it a shot. They basically massage u standing up for the front lipo and laying on ur stomach for the back. They don't touch your butt at all, just the lipo areas. It felt GREAT! By the end of the session I felt like I haven't even had surgery. Next morning the swelling was back of course friends, she didn't miraculously heal me in an hour lol. but it truly helped me feel great for the day. it took the stiffness and soreness out for the rest of the day and made me feel very optimistic and happy again.
I totally recommend this girl, can share info. The results you get from your lipo are definitely from the technique of your doctor. If the doctor fucked up there is no amount of oil and massage that will change that. but since in my case my doctor did a wonderful job, massage was just a great addition to my experience in making me comfortable throughout the recovery.
Day 4, 5, 6, 7
Feeling great! My lipo is very smooth. I am shocked at how smooth it is. before surgery I mentally prepared myself that it will look fd up for a month because looking good, and I am shocked that it actually looks good already. I don't have any bumps or contour irregularities(*knocks on wood*). I am still swollen so I will wait to post photos.
As for BBL, it's kind of tricky. I don't have big difference in my butt at all, but the doctor told me at least a million times that in my case I need to lipo my inner thighs to have enough fat for BBL. I refused, because I know better lol and to my shock and surprise ....I should have let him lipo the thighs ;) but there is a whole long personal reason why I didn't want o do the thighs so I just couldn't do it, no one's fault. Even though now that I see what a great job he did with my lipo I wish I would have let him do the BBL the way he advised me multiple times, I am also very happy and appreciative that I was in full control of my body. So at the end of the day I'm happy.
As my recovery progresses, I will update more. If there are problems I will be sure to be responsible and update. But as of today I am very grateful for what I got and especially for the way I was treated. The whole team was just so incredibly kind. Nurse Sara took care of me from start to finish, and she is very kind and attentive. Donna (manager) came to check on me after surgery when I was shaking and let me know she was there. Dr Shifrin stood by when it was time for me to go under. I was very scared of general anesthesia and asked him to stand there when they administer it, but I mean it's a lot going on so I didn't really expect him to. I noticed that when they put a mask on me he was way across the room and practically ran over just to stand there. It's little things like that that mean a whole lot. I would recommend this place to my friends and family because I feel like these people genuinely care about their patients, so even if I have some issue moving forward I feel confident that they will do their best to help.

Thank you for writing this review. This makes me feel better for my surgery in a few weeks. Although I'm not getting a BBL I am getting lipo and I am concerned about lumps. Looking forward to more pics.

Hey! I'm about to post one now of the fornt. The lines you see are from the binder, it all feels completely soft and it i keep the binder off for like 15 mins mins say to take a shower the imprints go away. I don't feel any irregularities at this time.

posting the front since thats where everyone is known to get fucked up at. back and sides are easier to make smooth from what ive seen. And im happy my belly button (though bruised) looks normal. Doesn't make surgery obvious.

Just addint the lipo pic for someone who said they are nervous about lipo bumps/ irregularities.
The lines and "bumbp"you see in the photo is just imprint of the binder. Everything feels smooth to touch and if I keep the binder off the imprint goes away in a few mins.
This photo was taken yesterday so 1 week po. Today Im wearing a body suit instead.

Hi, what compression garment are you using? I have lipo of the waist and abdomen coming up and I am not sure which is the best one
July 4, 2020
Hey! So they give you the binder thing after surgery. You wake up in it. I bought some lipo foam to stuff it with because I didn't like the way the wrinkles of the garment felt on my skina nd i was worried that they will make permanent lines. So i would wrap the foams around and put hte binder tightly on top. The goal is compression anyway, and i feel like the foams helped make the compression it even.
At 1 week po they gave me a full bodysuit but you probably wont be needing that. So technically you don't need to buy anything because they give it to you, but me personally I ordered a few more different kinds just because i am enjoying this whole thing as an experience and i want to have options to change into since i gotta live in them for a while. They should be here monday.
