My Liposuction Journey
WORTH IT
I have always been on the heavier side. As a lot of other women do, I went up and down in weight constantly. No matter how hard I worked out and how much I dieted the weight just never went anywhere. I'd had blood tests to see if it was a medical problem but all the doctor's ever said was to lose weight. Umm...how the heck do you so that when the scale doesn't budge. I'd tried keto, HCG and even testosterone injections but nothing helped. I'd seen a dietitian and was told my diet wasn't the problem so I was a dead end.
Then I'd decided to have surgery. I knew that I had to get rid of the fat in my stomach and hips via lipo. At my starting point, I was 98kg's. I saw a few different doctors and finally decided on a 'Cosmetic surgeon' who seemed eager to help me. My heaviness didn't bother him at all even though the other doc's said I was too heavy and needed to lose weight first. This doc had no issues and said he would do whatever he could. I was over the moon excited, finally someone was willing to help.
I had a couple appointments with him before the procedure and tried to drop as much weight as I could before the surgery. I'd basically starved myself and cardioed myself down a few more kg's and was so grateful the day of. In my gut I knew something wasn't 100% right but I went ahead anyway and even told him to take as much as he could. Well, he was quite aggressive with the lipo. Overall he said he took about 4.7kg's of fat and also decided to do (without my consent) threading of my abdomen to keep it from dropping. He said he did the threading for free cuz he wanted me to be happy with the results. That was warning sign #10 (at this point) yet I still kept on with him thinking he knew what he was doing.
The results were unbelievable. Particularly as I had been so big and now my stomach was basically gone. I was over the moon excited. The pain of the surgery was unbelievable though. Because he was so aggressive, it took a good 2-3 weeks to be able to move without massive pain. I was back to work at 3 weeks and that was hard. The aftercare was alright but it always just felt like there was something not right. The doctor always wanted to sell me something else and started talking about a tummy tuck. This will be another post as it's unbelievable in itself.
Anyway, looking back now on my lipo journey all I want women to know is to go with a Plastic Surgeon and not a Cosmetic surgeon. There really is a massive difference between the two but I will talk about that more in my next couple posts.
