Lower legs (knees to ankles) 1 year post surgery

WORTH IT
This photo was taken 1 year after my 360 knee to ankle liposuction by Dr Su completely healed! I had been training my body for years and eating extremely healthy. I choice not to drink alcohol. My thighs have always been pretty lean and did not need surgery. And now my lower legs match!

I cannot get over your before and after pictures. The muscle definition in your calves is ridiculously amazing. Your result is what I am hoping for. I live in the southwest as well. I am nervous to fly right now with Covid, but was wondering if you did this trip solo or did you have a companion fly out with you? If you went alone, were you okay flying back, etc.? How many days did you stay in Florida after your surgery? Did you do the renuvion piece as well? How are your scars healing? Did you notice jeans/boots fit better? Do you know how many inches you lost? We have similar physiques. This gives me hope. Though, I believe my calves are bigger (15"). I workout 5-6x per week and eat extremely healthy. No amount of exercise/dieting changes my calves, but I was just diagnosed with lymphedema. I'm going to see if my insurance will cover part of the surgery because I have constant pain in my legs. Thanks for sharing your journey! Sorry for all the questions! You look incredible!
Hi Hunter! Thanks for all the love. I flew to Tampa alone. I arrived 1 day before my surgery and left the day after surgery. I don’t recommend flying alone. It was very uncomfortable to travel such a long distance post op. But I do a lot of traveling alone that why I didn’t have a problem with it initially. The scars are very very tiny a little a larger than a head of a sharpie marker. Lymphedema cause make your healing time much longer and I highly recommend purchasing air pumps for the after care. I do not have lymphedema but I did have lipedema. I don’t know what my circumference was around my calf pre surgery I should have measured ! But I have zero issues with boots, skinny jeans or anything else that I wouldn’t normally wear in the past. I will say that because I was able to get rid of excess lower extremity fat my body overall is responding easier to changes. Like my estrogen levels have been able to balance and I’ve been seeing better results more than ever in the gym
Thank you for your thorough response. This helps tremendously. I was telling my hubby a few weeks ago that he didn't need to come with me, but that plan has changed now! I find it fascinating to hear that your hormone levels are balanced and you are seeing better results in the gym. There must be some kind of science to this change in regards to the lipo positively affecting your body. You give me hope! You mentioned that you had lipedema. Did you try to see if insurance would cover a portion of it? Did you have pain in your calves before? If yes, did that pain go away?
I’m glad I could help! No, insurance does not cover it. It would have been helpful but I didn’t care it was worth every penny. Post op you must be prepared for some intense pain for the first 10 days. Your legs will feel like fire but it gradually gets better and better. My best advice is to be patient! Healing takes time. The end results are extremely rewarding. Dr Su is a true artist you will absolutely be so happy!
Thanks so much! I would like to do my calves and thighs. However, his asst. told me you cannot do both in the same day. They can only take 4 liters out at a time. Therefore, they like to wait two weeks in between, but she said they could do it the next day since I am out-of-town. This makes me nervous, though. I bruise terribly and tend to swell. I think it is because of the lymphedema issue. Perhaps I should wait 6 months in between? I don't want to overtax my body. Do you think you could have handled both below the knee and upper within 24 hours? Or is it pushing it too much?

10 months post op

Completely healed ???? I am 10 months post operation. I started to feel more and more confident after month 6/7. Be prepared to go through an emotional roller coaster with healing. The knee complex down to the ankles are a long recovery. It makes sense, we are standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time so the fluid can pool in the area that’s healing. But I will tell you if you really want this, then the surgery and 6/7 months of healing is 100% worth it. Seeing the instant results when your in the operating room does give you motivation to trust the process. But the next morning post op the swelling will begin ! So be prepared for that. I recommend lymphatic massages after month 2.

Wowww. Gorgeous. And looks so so natural—blends perfectly with your muscular thighs. I’m in talks w Dr Su right now but I’m very worried about the awake portion of things! I have such a low pain tolerance. Can you tell me exactly what happened for the numbing? Is it just normal small needles they numb you with or a big cannula? Did you feel anything after they numbed? I am a big baby and I wish I could just be put to sleep!
Thank you ! You will be fine... during the procedure Dr. Su will take multiple needles to the areas of the body that he will be working on. You will also be on medication to help. And when he goes in with the cannula, he will fill the area with a saline that has lidocaine. You shouldn’t feel anything during the procedure. Maybe at most a lite tugging but no pain.
Legs are shapely and beautiful! Good for you!
You look incredible! But I'm surprised it costs so much. $12,000? Is there a reason it was so expensive?
Your results are amazing! How long after your procedure were you about to get back into a fitness routine?

3 month post op

3 months post op. I’ll find a better picture but my legs look noticeably different even in leggings ! The taper near the knees and calves look super defined. I’m so happy. There’s still some swelling especially in the evening when I have been on my feet all day.

Amazing!!! Your leg shape is soooo gorgeous now.
Thank you
How many cc's of fat/fluid did Dr. Su remove on your legs? I had mine done a week ago locally and my legs looked very similar to your "before" pics. I'm hoping once the swelling goes down they look anything close to your new shape! I didn't have my calves done, but I did have 350cc's from each of my saddlebags removed, and I can already tell the difference there! Has the swelling stopped now?
Hi there ! Total amount of fat/fluid that was removed was around 6lbs. I didn’t have my upper legs done. I had the “360” from the knee complex down to my ankle. It would be hard to tell how long your recovery will be. I was told that the knee down was the worse for pain and healing. I had a lot of swelling and it started to look really good around 6-7 months post op. Hope that helps !
That does help, thanks!!
Hi there! I was wondering what the price range was for this for you. I have similar shaped legs like in your before pics.
