ROUND THREE! I’AM GOING WITH DR. DERBY SANG CAPUTO!
WORTH IT$3,500
This review is long over due! I am presently almost 3 months post op.
I decided last year (2017) sometime that I wanted to do a tummy tuck. My very first surgery was a breast reduction with Lipo and my second was a Brazilian butt lift with Lipo. If you read my past reviews, you’ll understand why I decided to research another doctor as my previous experience did not meet my expectations as far my overall experience. I wanted to find a doctor that was CONSISTENT in their reviews and also delivered GREAT results. After doing my research I came across two doctors Dr. Jairo Ulerio & Dr. Derby Sang Caputo. Both had GREAT consistent reviews.
However, I decided to go with Dr.Derby Sang Caputo because of his consistency in answering any questions or concerns that I had. He was always available and was very kind. His assistant Vanessa, hands down! She is the best! She was such a sweetheart and also was available for any questions and concerns. This was definitely a considering factor in my final decision.
Well about one month prior to surgery I decided to not to do the tummy tuck and instead Lipo with fat transfer to the hips. I was also afraid of having drains. I had drains for my breast reduction and it left me with a uneasy feeling especially when they are being removed. I also didn’t have much time off from work so I knew when I returned home I would be going right back to work and a tummy tuck would of required a little bit more recovery time.
I flew into the DR on the morning of May 14th. I was scheduled for surgery on May 15th. My travel companion this time was my dear husband. My PROTECTOR! When we arrived at the airport everything went smooth and our driver Raphael was there waiting for us with his sign with my name on it. Raphael doesn’t speak much English but my husband speaks very little Spanish so we were able to communicate with him. When he picked us up he took us directly to Dr, Caputo’s office where he was waiting o meet with me. This was a total PLUS for me! I sat down with him for about a hour while he took pictures and we spoke about my health, my wishes and what he can do to deliver. He is a very upfront and honest doctor. Most doctors in the DR is not very personable. You see them the first time for your mark up and your lucky if you see them again...
After speaking to him, I went into another room right next to his office where I did my blood work and saw the cardiologist. Everything was right there and I loved that.
When completed I was taken to the recovery home.-VIP GARDEN RECOVERY HOUSE. This house was recommended but I honestly was not totally happy with my experience. First things first this house is advertised as a recovery home that accommodates males...however, when arriving with my husband I was told by one of staff that the other ladies/patients that were uncomfortable and my husband will have to stay in the room and will be limited to certain areas (MOST) of the house. I have not yet received a reply from the owner in regards to my concerns. False advertisement and if we paid full in cash then he should not have been confined...We only stayed there for 6 nights and stayed our remaining 3 nights at the Sheraton hotel. The nurses there were not very attentive compared to last recovery home that I stayed at. The nurses there DID NOT check your vitals signs daily after surgery at all while there...I luckily had walked with a digital thermometer and my husband had a small blood pressure machine that he uses regularly so I was able to check my pressure and temperature daily myself.
May 15th Day of Surgery
Arrived at surgical center and taken to private room where my private nurse was waiting for me. I still payed the extra $50 to have a private nurse in my room for the night of surgery even though hubby was here. She was a sweetheart!
I got into my hospital gears and met with Dr. Caputo (SAW MY DOCTOR AGAIN! :-))) as I got settled into the bed and waited for the anesthesiologist. After getting all IV up I was given the famous BLUE PILL that didn’t work on me for my prior surgery.... after taking the pill I remember telling my husband “let’s see what this BLUE PILL do to me this time” that was the last thing that I remembered. It worked and knocked me out in no time.
When I woke up after surgery I was very cold. I remember actually shaking and shivering but that’s normal after surgery. I didn’t have any pain only real soreness in my Lipo areas. Oh I forgot to mention that I ended up with two drains. The doctor did say that he gives his patients one drain after Lipo because it’s better in removing excess fluid. I apparently had excess bleeding so he ending up giving me two. I just had to remain positive and just embrace my two new best friends. The overnight at the clinic was very resting and peaceful.
During my stay Vanessa have been there for me. Anything that I needed she was there! She is a total sweetheart and a great asset to Dr. Caputo!
Well the remaining days spent at the recovery house I looked forward to my massages with Ramona. This was actually the first time that I enjoyed massages after any of my past surgeries. As the days got closer to my return home I was getting more and more eager to have my new best friends removed. I was hoping to have had them removed before leaving the recovery house and staying at the hotel but only one was removed before we left. The other one was removed the day before we flew out. Ramona was actually the one that removed them and I must say it was painless. I didn’t even feel a thing when she removed them. I saw Dr. Caputo about 2-3 times after surgery and the day before I left the DR.
After returning home, he has been in contact with me following up.
Dr. Derby Sang Caputo has exceeded my expectations! He is very professional, kind and personable doctor. I could not have chosen a better doctor! Thank you Dr. Caputo!
