Highly Competent & Professional Surgeon

I visited many surgeons in Mumbai before meeting Sandip Jain. From our first consultation it was clear to me that, unlike some others, Dr Jain was practising according to standards of Western medical and professional ethics. Do not underestimate the importance of this when selecting a surgeon particularly for Western patients. You do not want a surgeon who practices in an unsafe, risky manner or who does not seek informed consent for what he does to you whilst you are anaesthetised. Dr Jain was also comfortable with the Western patient approach of wanting to be involved in decision making over our own treatment. Again very important as some surgeons I met resented being asked to explain anything and dismissed patient input.

Dr Jain’s manner is entirely befitting of a surgeon. He has a calm and serene energy which is very suited to the nature of surgical work. He was extremely patient with my numerous questions and need for details. Indeed he welcomed me to spend as much time in discussion with him as I felt necessary.

He performed the procedure at the Wockhardt Hospital with anaesthetist Ajit Pillai. Dr Pillai was also quite excellent. I had previously had a bad experience with general anaesthesia and Dr Pillai took time to understand the issue and spent a long time together with me discussing alternative anaesthetic options. He was able to correctly identify the particular drug which caused the issue for me previously and as such this procedure went very smoothly.

Wockhardt Hospital itself actually exceeds the standards of a typical private hospital in UK. Hygiene standards are excellent. Staff patient ratio is ideal. The food in particular was excellent. I could have anything I wanted , Western or Indian food. They even had broccoli. It was hygienic and properly prepared and as good as 4-5* hotel food. A knowledgeable dietician was there to supervise my dietary choices. Sometimes communication with the nurses wasn’t easy but it really was a minor issue and I would definitely have another procedure there.

Dr Jain performed an excellent liposuction surgery. The holes were extremely neat and small and subsequently healed without any scar. There were no lumps and bumps either at the time of surgery or subsequently (which can often happen). It was an incredibly neat and smooth procedure and most importantly the result was symmetrical.

The postsurgical compression garment was a comfortable natural cotton material and after a few modifications it was comfortable to wear for a month.

Follow up and aftercare has been excellent and I highly recommend Dr Jain to all.
