Destroyed my Body

Dr. Trussler destroyed my body. When I went to him for a consult, I was happy with my body but wanted a little post-kids work done. I don’t think he listened to me at all because when I woke up from a 7.5 hour surgery, my body was completely different. He caused permanent damage internally and externally. My stomach, thighs, and butt are covered with lumps and bumps that can never be repaired, my breasts are uneven, my nipples are different shapes and sizes, I am covered with horrible scars, and that’s just the beginning of the damage he has done.
But probably the worst part is that even though he told me how unhappy he is with his own work, and that he will refund my money entirely, he will only do so if I sign a legal document preventing me from writing a review. I’m guessing this explains all the 5-star reviews.
I am happy to provide more detail (there is a lot!) and/or pics. Just pm me!

Adding pics

Adding pics! I wanted a tiny bit of lipo but woke up 7.5 hours later with way more fat than was safe removed from my abs and added to my butt. I believe I suffered a fat embolism from it when I was rushed to the ER with all the symptoms of a TIA (mini stroke).
To add insult to injury, my doctor said he was unhappy with his results but and would refund my money but now he won’t because I posted this review :( I just want someone out there to read this and think twice and do their research! I chose my doctor based on all his 5 star reviews. I never in a million years thought it was considered standard practice to force patients to sign a legal document saying they will not review the doctor in order to get a refund. I could understand if there was a settlement or something but not a refund of your money back. He said it is standard practice which is really scary! So be wary of all 5 star reviews!

I noticed in your photos you have what looks like a tummy tuck scar, is this a procedure you also had done at some point? If it is did you get lipo when you had your TT?

I asked for a mini tummy tuck with a tiny bit of lipo. Since then, I have learned that a small amount of lipo with a mini tummy tuck is standard (I had asked for it at the time anyhow). The scarring you see in the pics is actually more consistent with a full tummy tuck though. The lumpiness is just the beginning of what went wrong with this surgery. For this post alone, I was just focusing on the lipo part of it.

You're right in it def looks like a full tummy tuck scar, I'm curious if that aided in your results, and not the lipo alone. Standard TT and full TT are vastly different in how the skin is pulled down.. and could def see where that would cause some issues.

Kate, I may have missed this but what was the date of your procedure? How far post-operative are you? I just ask because sometimes a “lumpy”’feeling can be common with fairly aggressive liposuction, but it can settle/ distribute evenly/ decrease swelling over time.
A full tummy tuck scar wold generally wrap around the hips. This is a little wider than some “mini” scars. But the length of incision can vary based upon each persons pre-surgical measurements. Personally I have a little wider scar because I needed abdominal muscle repair above the belly button, making the incision longer/ area elevated higher. But I wasn’t a good candidate for a full tummy tuck because my navel had a naturally position combined with little excess skin/laxity, making it impossible to remove enough skin to remove the navel and create a new one.
I only say all this to say, I hope perhaps you’ll be happier over time.

Ohhh I bet you're right! One of the surgeons I went to for a revision consult said he could have done a reverse tummy tuck if Dr. Trussler had not messed up the mini tummy tuck. I guess the mistake was bad enough that it removed too much of the blood supply in my abdominal area (which is why I will never recover). But I never considered that as being one of the reasons for why the lumpiness is so bad. Good call!

Have you tried cavitation or ultrasound ? I've heard is very helpful with those irregular areas.
May 29, 2020
No I haven't tried either one of those. I have tried Z-wave (acoustic radial wave therapy), Cool Sculpting and Morpheus (micro needling with radio frequency). The Z-wave barely did anything and the Morpheus seemed to help but at $1,800 each treatment, I can't afford to do the 8-10 recommended treatments! I will definitely look into the cavitation (I've never even heard of it!) and ultrasound methods though. Thank you! I am willing to try anything!

Offers Refunds Only if You Don’t Give Negative Reviews

Terrible. He did permanent damage and did not do at all what we discussed. My life has been permanently changed and I will never recover.
Be aware of an over abundance of glowing 5 star reviews. He offered me a full refund only if I signed a legal document agreeing to not give a negative review. Happy to discuss more.
Also be sure to do your research with the Texas Medical Board and be sure to check CA too.

I will keep you posted too. I am determined to find answers! It is just incredibly expensive and time consuming, not to mention emotionally and physically draining. :(
I know a lot of people will read that statement and think it is shallow but I think that of any website, this is the one where I can be honest about how I feel.
I had just turned 40 and I had been married for less than a year. It's been 2.5 years since the surgery and it still impacts my marriage. Well, it still impacts all aspects of my life. I'm trying to not let it affect me and I'm trying to rise above it., and hopefully I will someday.
But for me, I think maybe the worst part of this isn't how I look now but it's that I did this to myself. I trusted someone I didn't even know with my body and my life for 7.5 HOURS while I was under anesthesia. This guy didn't even show up to my pre-op appointment to answer my questions. What was I thinking??
