Consultation review: looking for abdomen, flanks, breasts & back lipo

ORIGINAL POST

I Would Not Recommend, Seems Dishonest

I went to him for a consult and after driving about an hour to get there; he saw me for 5 minutes at most and told me I was not a good candidate for lipo except for my flanks. I have since been looking into this again and see many other men getting the same thing I asked for with good results. I was looking for abdomen, flanks, breasts and back and all he said was he could do the flanks but it would not be worth it? I do not believe he was honest at all, maybe did not do men, or did not feel he would make enough money but I had been looking again and saw his add again but was not sure if it was the same doctor I went to a couple of years ago but I checked my email and it was and I sent one email saying why did not answer my questions. So now I recall they were not good at replying to my questions. From what I have learned, they pretty much do anything they do on a woman for a man.

i am a bit confused as to what you are upset about. I saw you and I told you that you would not be a good candidate for the areas you wanted to treat. It is quite obvious that I would make more money if I treated areas that you wanted done but instead, I gave you an honest appraisal and told you that it was better not to treat those areas, as I did not believe you would get a good result. It takes an honest board certified plastic surgeon, to tell you when you should not do a procedure. Just because the patient thinks they should have surgery, does not mean that it is the proper decision. I did 9 years of post medical school surgical training, so that I would know more about plastic surgery, than a person with zero medical training. Many doctors, sadly, would do what you wanted in order to make more money. I have no idea who you are since this is not your real name. However, I have done about 1,400 Smartlipo cases and I have seen many thousands of patients in consultation. I can quickly assess who will likely benefit or not benefit from Smartlipo. I treat many men with Smartlipo but oftentimes, men tend to have their fat as visceral or internal fat which is NOT treatable by anything other than dieting and exercise. Furthermore, for many men, If there is moderate breast fullness, it is better treated by direct excision and not liposuction.
I take it as a compliment that I was NOT pressured by a patient, who wanted surgery and in my better judgement was better served by not having a procedure. Incidentally, I am as selective on a woman as I am on a man. IF I do not feel a patient, male or female, would not benefit from a procedure, I will tell them that. It is a free country and they are obviously free to get a different opinion and proceed with another surgeon.
