AVANA PLASTIC SURGERY WILL BAIT and SWITCH You
Yesterday, I walked out of my pre op appointment disappointed that Avana Plastic Surgery had failed to honor the price that I locked in for $250 on 6/19/2020, which included 12 areas of lipo as part of a special which included full back, arms, inner thigh, arm pits, back of legs, and inter thigh, anesthesia fee, pre and post appointments for $3000.00. The day before my surgery they attempted to charge me an additional $2900 for this procedure. My surgery was already paid for in full by 7/17/2021. They said it was because I was scheduled with a particular doctor, which is not with the clinic anymore. The turn over rate of doctors for this clinic is as high as the administrative staff, so if you don’t have everything specified in writing, they will look for that as any excuse to up-charge the patient. I did not lock in a price based on a doctor, I locked in a price for a procedure, which can be seen advertisements all over their Instagram and Facebook with all their doctors during the time I locked in my price. I was willing to take any doctor they recommended, as long as they honor my price for my procedure, which I had in writing and showed them. I asked to speak to Alysen Acosta, who was identified as the CEO of Avana Plastic Surgery. She never was willing to speak to me or answer my email, or return my calls. The best solution they offered was to refund my money after they take $500 in cancel fee or to reduce the work original agreed on to a full back, midsection, and arms for an additional $1000.00. This did not include my massages or garment. This dishonest business practice is called bait and switch and it’s illegal in Florida. When a business advertises one thing to bring in customers and then charges much more once you are invested in the purchase. This clinic like many in Miami, will lure patients in with advertisements all over social media, many from out of town, and the day before surgery tag on additional charges for no reason other than the price went up. Multiply this bait and switch practice by all the patients they see, to get an honest picture of the loss to the patient and the extra revenue to the clinic. Patient who are from out-of-town invest in flights, hotel, nurse care, health clearances, garnets, days off of work. Easily add several thousands of dollars at a loss to the patient. If they back out or refuse to pay the clinic the additional money requested the patient has to absorb the loss. This place should have a class action lawsuit put on them for the dishonest bait and switch practices it carries out. Save yourself the time, energy, and money and go somewhere else. They do not sell affordable cosmetic surgery. It’s a scam and they should be called Avana Plastic Circus, with different clowns always willing to entertain you while their Ring Leader hide behind the telephone. HIGHLY DISSAPPOINTED WITH AVANA COSMETIC SURGERY AND THEIR DISHONEST BAIT and SWITCH PRACTICES.
