How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Assembly Line in Progress

ASSEMBLY LINE IN PROGRESS! Lipo 360, lipo to thighs with JPlasma and fat transfer to the breast. I left with a huge 2 degree burn in the center of my back! I am an actual patient and have chosen to provide great detail pertaining to my personal experience. The portal was created once I paid my deposit to secure the surgery date Fri Dec 18th. There was a wealth of information including your required extensive preops that are to be done a couple weeks prior to in order to get, "cleard." LOL. Trust me, you will not get any responses to whether your preops were received. The surgical coordinator is non responsive (Deisy) but her assistant may return your call closer to your surgery date. Hang tight, the games may begin once you get there. YOU SIGN Docs to include but not limited to NOTIFICATION THAT THE DOCTOR DOES NOT HAVE MALPRACTICE INSURANCE. YOU DO NOT GET ANY COPIES OF ANYTHING THAT YOU SIGNED. There is no surgery clearance from Avana and I don't believe they review your preops until you get to Miami. I flew in Wed. Dec 16th with preop Thurs. Dec 17th. Upon arrival for preops it was mad busy approx 13 people ahead of me at 9:30. In reviewing my hemoglobin which was 11.9, I was informed that I needed to do more labs due to requirement 12.0-12.9, otherwise $550 additional for a cell saver to be used. After the four hour wait I was told to pay the $100 drug test fee and Avana will call with my "prearranged," surgery time for Fri. Dec 18th. I called later approx 3pm requesting status and was informed someone would call me back. I received a call stating my surgery would be moved to Monday at 5:30am. What!? How when you request for patients to stay five days after the procedure? I need a Manager right away! This is a huge inconvenience and I am paying for days at a hotel that I didn't need. The Manager was avoiding my phone call so the rep told me that the Manager would give me a sports bra for inconvenience! Huh?! I demanded, "Alison the General Manager," to get onto the phone with my high energy. I explained what I been through and Alison assured me I was the first patient and she would give me the cell saver for free. They would call me the next day with my lab results. Saturday Dec 19th. Saturday I get a call from Monique stating my surgery was now moved to 8am on Dec 21st. No compassion empathy or anything. Take it or leave it. You have option to request a refund which is another beast in itself (I heard the lady at the counter complaining a month after one procedure was not done at all) Monday comes and I am there to find that I don't need a cell saver (12.6) and Alison is no where to be found! Go through the surgery and was awaken to someone rushing me to get up to be taken to the car. I was shaking cold and not coherent! No discharge summary or anything OR time to return to your post op the next day. My husband was given two prescriptions! Adios! Well I showed up at 9am the next day to Suite 250 and was directed to suite 270. The post op started and I fainted twice in which my blood pressure dropped so low that it was 75/40. No one dialed 911 rather called my husband to hurry and come up stairs! I have a 2 inch burn in the middle of my back in which the garment stuck to. The ladies tried to fan me, gave me gummie bears, and did everything in their power to prevent me from coding (dying). The massage therapists and everyone was scared because my body went into shock, I got pale, and started to sweat. Not a once did a physician come to attend to me. Summary: Now that Avana chose to push my surgery out from Friday to Monday I will be in Miami for a day and a half after my surgery. I have large bruising which may lead to seromas being that there are no lymphatic massage therapists in my home town. I never negotiated a free faja since I didn't need a cell saver, or did I need a life saver instead? There needs to be a replacement of current management with educated and experienced medical leadership that can manage the front end as well as the back end of this office! I am currently a Manager at a Trauma Center and would have never expected an active license at Avana. If you are content with potentially experiencing anything similar to the facts that I have mentioned, go for it but never in life will I try or recommend this place to anyone.
