Not What I Expected
Not What I Expected
I traveled from the US to Turkey after more than 8 months of back and forth talking with the Dr.'s assistant only to get there and be told that I couldn't have the procedure that I wanted done.
I specifically wanted 360 lipo with a fat transfer to my breasts and from the beginning I was told by the assistant that the doctor would do this and I was suitable to have this procedure done. I also wanted to have lipo on my arms but double checked with them that I wouldn't need an arm lift as a I felt I had a lot of loose skin and it was confirmed that I could do lipo and an arm lift wasnt needed. I was told that the vaser lipo was skin tightening and it could help my issue with my skin.
So needless to say I was devasted to meet with the doctor on surgery day and be told that I couldn't have the lipo procedure done. I was offered breast implants instead which wasn't what I wanted and I went back to my hospital room to think about what I wanted to do.
I ended up opting to get arm lipo which the doctor said would help my problem a little bit wouldn't fully reduce the size of my arms. I was ok with it and also after traveling all the way out there I wanted to make use of the trip and made the quick decision to do it.
*Note, the garment they gave me post surgery only had compression for two days and became noticeably loose. During that time I was traveling and had no access to find another garment. I strongly suggest you find your own before surgery so you have them on hand.
Now in regards to the doctor I chose him because I thought he did good work and based off the reviews he seemed like an experienced doctor. With everything that happened I still think he's very good at what he does and I don't have complaints about him in that sense and he seems kind as well.
I didn't like that you literally see the doctor one time and there is absolutely no follow up care or communication after your procedure.
I wasn't even given information about aftercare until I asked for it and it was from communication via the assistants not the doctor himself.
I personally prefer to be able to be in contact directly with my doctor in case of any issues or complications so in my case I did not like this aspect of the having surgery at the Clinique at all.
The overall experience of after care was very mixed.
Some nurses were very kind and attentive whilst others were not.
At some point during or after my surgery while I was still loopy I had a large amount of cash stolen from my wallet and to my certainty it was by one of the nurses who knew I was in a vulnerable state and situation. Nothing was done about it and no one cared. You're staying on a floor designated for the surgery recovery and the only people that come in and out of your room are the nurses that are working there. I also still have marks on my hands and arms from one of the nurses not being able to get the iv needles in right. That in itself was awful and more pain than I even felt post surgery.
Overall, even though I don't think ill of the doctor himself, the experience as a whole at the clinic was truly horrible
