The Process

I wanted to write this so you can know what to expect.
I arrived day before my surgery. I paid in cash (Mexican pesos) and got the prescription for my medicine. The receptionist is very sweet. She’s the one who you will mainly talk to on whatsapp. I just noticed most of the communication is with her, so if you don’t speak Spanish, have an oncall interpreter. That night I walked to the nearest pharmacy and picked up my prescription. It was kinda pricey (like 75 US dollars). I wasn’t able to get the anti blood clotting self injections, they’re in a shortage because of covid. Honestly I didn’t care and never ended up getting them lol, I suggest you don’t do this. I didn’t have any problems but I was being lazy. Don’t be lazy haha. I went in April and Monterrey is very hot, it was like 80 degrees outside at night. We were sweating bc we wore sweaters and pants when walking to the pharmacy (check the weather!!!). The area is super safe, we never felt worried or scared walking around at night. Uber is super safe and cheap too! The pharmacy was just so dang close to us we opted for walking. We stayed at the Grand Fiesta Americana (It’s super fancy, I suggest this hotel if you can afford it. It’s beautiful!) You can’t eat or drink water passed 10pm.
Woke up the next day and ubered to the surgery location. The surgery location is different than where you first meet Dr. Alvar’s assistant so be weary of this. I paid for acupuncture (it’s optional btw). So I was waiting in a room, and the acupuncturist came in and did his thang. I’ll admit it was a bit nerve wracking because I hate needles, however once the needles were in it was a breeze. I actually napped for the who hour because I couldn’t sleep the night before (nerves). The needles were removed, then someone came in and put my IV in. The anesthesiologist came in and talked to me. Then after, Dr. Alvar came in, we talked about what I wanted and he marked me up. He then left and when they were ready for me this lady came in and told me to follow her. At this point I just had a gown and no clothes under. I enter the operating room and there were towels on the corner of the room and she directed me to remove my gown and stand over the towels. She washed my whole body with this red liquid, she microwaved the liquid so it felt good actually. I was really nervous at this point and she was trying to calm my nerves. Then I was directed to lay on the operating table. This gentleman wrapped up my feet really tight with towels (to prevent clotting I believe). I was instructed to lay on my side and stick my butt out. (So they can put the epidural). At this point I had an oxygen mask over my mouth. I was nervous that I was going to feel pain from the needle but I actually went under (they had put a sedative in the oxygen) so I don’t remember anything after being instructed to stick my back out.
Then I woke up and I was in the resting room, the nurse came over and asked how I felt. I told her good and she gave me a juice box and told me to keep resting until I felt more energized. (This ain’t my first rodea, I’ve have bbls and boob jobs so I feel like my body is used to it now.)
The difference between beverly hills and monterrey is that Beverly hills wanted me the F out of their resting room when I just awoke. In monterrey with Dr. Alvar, they were so nice and told me to take my time and that they wanted me to stay a minimum of two hours after waking up just to make sure everything was ok. Just shows you how much BETTER Dr. Alvar and his team are. I was super impressed and felt so safe.
After two hours I was good, I was wheel chaired to my uber and went back home. REMINDER, at this point, I had no food and barely some juice in my stomach. Please eat something like a small soup at least. You have to take medicine/pain meds/antibiotics. My dummy self took all of these pills on an empty stomach. It really messed up my stomach. I couldn’t even keep water down. Everything made me throw up. It finally subsided after couple of hours. Please avoid doing this!
After that it was smooth sailing. Lots of resting! I had drains for my boob job, they were removed after 3 or 4 days.
Overall I had a great experience. I plan to come back and get my nose done. I truly recommend him.

Truly an Amazing Doctor - Highly Recommend

This review is for a Breast Implant Exchange with Liposuction to Waist and Fat Transfer to hips. A little background of myself, I have had multiple surgeries in Beverly Hills. I came to Dr. Alvar Garcia because I was unhappy with my liposuctions and fat grafting to hips that I had previously done with Dr. Yovino of Beverly Hills. I wasn't botched or anything, it's just that I had literally NO results from my surgery. Even my boyfriend told me that he didn't see results and I dropped so much money on Dr. Yovino. I was so mad and frustrated that I spent so much money on Dr. Yovino. That's when I went on my quest to find a different doctor in Mexico. The way I found Dr. Alvar was that Dr. Heriberto Valdes had posted an IG story about how much he trusted Dr. Alvar Garcia as a surgeon, that he would trust with his own life. It's funny because the way I found Dr. Heriberto Valdes was through Cristina Villegas the stripper influencer LOL. I've been following her botched nose job journey and saw that Dr. Heriberto Valdes fixed her botched nose job. I was inclined to get my procedure done by Dr. Alvar because he had more surgeries involving liposuction and fat transfer. Dr. Heriberto Valdes focuses more on nose jobs (Dr. Alvar also does great nose jobs, I plan on returning for my nose job with Dr. Alvar).I remember telling my family that I was going to do surgery in Monterrey, Mexico. They literally died and acted as if I contact someone off craigslist to do surgery in a Tijuana basement. However, during my consultation with Dr. Alvar, he just came off as someone so trustworthy, intelligent, and absolutely knowledgeable. I knew he was the right doctor for me, he even speaks English very well! If you don't speak Spanish and you want to go to Dr. Alvar, it is possible, however, it will difficult. I recommend traveling with a translator (the translator app works well too lol). Monterrey is the richest city in Mexico (people are driving porches, range rovers, bmw, audis...) and therefore it is extremely safe. They have uber, I did all my traveling through uber. From the airport, to go eat, to pick up my meds, to take me to surgery, to drop me off from surgery, uber was very reliable, safe, and always consistent.Funny enough (I KNEW this would happen though) now that my family has seen and loved my results, they are all planning to get surgery with him. My mom wants to get a TT, my sister wants her boobs redone and a nose job and my aunt wants to get a boob job as well.
