So I heard about Dr. D being this great Brazilian butt lift doctor, but that’s not what I needed so I almost chose a different doctor....sooo glad that I didn’t. I also heard that his bedside manner was not the greatest but that was not my experience AT ALL. He was funny, charming, confident and patient with me at my consultations, which is why I ultimately chose him. My procedure was lipo 360. I have 2 babies - 3 years old and 8 months old, and could not get rid of the weight after the second baby. I’m 37 and was 169lbs when I went in. I also had it done in his NY office. The day of surgery, things were seamless and on time. The anesthesiologist (forgot the doctor’s name but was a super tall guy white dude with an amazingly gentle manner) was awesome. And Janet, the ICU nurse, was.....simply amazing. The way in which she cared for me almost made me cry. She was gentle, calming, soft spoken and reassuring...all the things you want in someone that’s caring for you during a surgery. I raved about her to my husband and mom because her kindness and professionalism was second to none.
I’m currently 2 days post op and just got a call to check in on me from Suzy, Dr. D’s assistant who’s fantastic. My pain on day 1 was serious, I’m not gonna lie. I cried every time I had to sit down or stand up. My husband had to help me with everything. Now I’ve mastered peeing while standing which has alleviated the anxiety I was feeling just to go to the bathroom. Definitely took the prescribed percocets - 1 every 4 to 5 hours and it hardly took the gotdamn edge off. But then Suzy told me I can take two at a time for the first few days, so I just took one and a half and it definitely helped more (I’d rather take the smallest dosage that I’d need)
All and all, I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasurable experience thus far, and I would recommend Dr. Del Vecchio in a heartbeat. I’ve posted before and after pictures - the after was taken while I was still on the operating table. Will update in a couple weeks as my results get better. Right now i currently have on my garment, wraparound foam and compressions stocking and I’m still bloated as hell.

Photos 10 Days Post Op
Wanted to post a couple of new photos. I started getting the lymphatic drainage massages and they have to frigging stick me with a needle and drain me each time because I have so much fluid since Dr. D sewed up my incisions and didn’t put any drains in. I’m still extremely swollen and lumpy. The massages and draining hurts like hell but I do feel relief afterwards once the fluid is removed.

So sorry to hear that..Why didn’t he put a drainage in? So getting the lymphatic massages is the only way to get rid of the fluid. Wow. I hope all goes well with you.

When did you begin getting lymphatic massages?

you should begin getting massages 1-2 days after lipo, different for tummy tuck though

10 Months Later / Not Happy
So I wanted to give an ample amount of time before updating my review to make sure my body had enough time to heal and “settle.” Here I am 10 months later minus $9k in my bank account, and I’m not happy at all. During several follow up appts I expressed to Dr. D that I still had quite a bit of fat in my mid and upper back areas (where he was supposed to have lipo’d at for the lipo 360) and he kept saying it’s just swelling. Then on post-op visit number 5 he finally admitted and agreed that there was indeed quite a bit of fat left, and he’d rather wait until I was completely healed before touching it. I also had an EXTREME case of fibrosis during the healing process and still have some today. He even made a comment about being afraid to touch me again because I’m prone to having fibrosis. As per his suggestion I’ve spent upwards of an additional $3k on lymphatic drainage massages to get rid of the fibrosis but I’m still left with several hardened areas. Also, I’ve recently gone to another plastic surgeon who confirmed for me what I already felt - that Dr. D was overly aggressive in some areas of my stomach (which has the lower part of my tummy looking deformed and uneven), and not aggressive enough in other areas (like my mid and upper back that pretty much look untouched). I’m so disappointed because at 5’9, 165lbs, I wasn’t an overweight girl to begin with - just a few front and back rolls that I developed after recently having two babies. I’m now down to 149lbs and was hoping it would help how my tummy and back looks but nope. I’ve gone on several beach vacations thus far and have yet to wear a bikini instead of a one piece. I wouldn’t recommend Dr. D if you’re just going for lipo like I did. He kept asking me if I wanted a BBL too but I said no because I was fine with my butt. I guess he’s ok as far as BBL’s from what I’ve seen, and I guess it’s easier for him to lipo properly and evenly when he knows he needs enough fat to transfer to your butt. But I’m my case? He failed me, and now I’m going to a different doctor to make it right.

I really hope you find a good doctor and tell us about it! Dr. D did the EXACT same thing with me, and I also got terrible fibrosis, but couldn't even afford the massages which they actually told me not to do- which was terrible advice. I am with you hun... Look up the doctor named
Misbah Khan MD, FAAD, FACMS who has a minimally invasive procedure to address the lumps and adhesions. I am looking to her now because you know how hard the first round was... best to hire someone who will take their time. I wish you luck!

Thank you so much for this! Did you end up going to Misbah? I just posted an update pic of my stomach - still looks horrible. I only show it now on the beach when I'm drinking and care a bit less :(
