Abdomen and waist lipo at Sonobello

After many consults in the Austin and San Antonio area, I’ve decided upon the Sonobello center to get this multi area lipo procedure. I decided I want to do the “awake” lipo even though I’m not a huge fan of it and prefer to be treated under general. I had my lower abdomen done in 2017 and the upper abdomen has not been looking so hot these days. Aside from working to manage my weight through diet and exercise ( I haven’t been doing so awesome in that regard obviously ). So the plan is to get the full abdomen and the waist done for evenness.
I find that the lipo procedures are worthwhile even when my weight is up because my overall body shape holds up well. My weight is always fluctuating which is my fault and a huge hassle but having the body contouring has helped over the years. So here we go and I hope that the procedure will not be too bad and that my recovery is mild !

Anxious after post op

I’m the most ridiculous person on earth when it comes to any type of procedure. I’m nervous and anxious. I didn’t have a lot of lead time between my consult and the surgery date so I’m having a bit of a last minute scramble to prepare which does not help ! The worst part is that procedure is in the afternoon and not the morning ( tomorrow) so I will wake up and feel edgy all day until then! I prefer a morning appointment but in this case I’m happy to be getting in sooner.
I hope that I’ll be sedated and loopy enough from the “cocktail” they give to calm you down. Would be nice to be knocked out completely —but I know I don’t want to pay for that . So no complaints! I have a long road ahead of me to get this midsection in shape . I have what’s called “visceral fat” in my tummy and they can’t be removed by liposuction ( of Course). So I am going into this knowing that I can’t expect a totally “flat” abdomen without continued diet and exercise. The lipo will give me the hourglass shape and a decent silhouette to work with while I get this “bad fat” knocked out. So I’ll take that.
The doctor who will be working on me is Dr. Anire Okpaku and I’ve seen good reviews around the internet. I just always try to believe that abdomen lipo is like lipo 101 for surgeons so the likelihood of it turning out ok should be pretty good.
If he can do his part then I will do mine with the diet and exercise and perhaps by my birthday In August , I’ll me be able to photographed from any angle.
Well tomorrow is the day , so no backing out now !

Day after liposuction

So I’m Day after and still alive to talk about it. The “awake “ lipo is certainly interesting and not for the faint of heart. I was nervous and rightfully so. I wouldn’t say it was awful and painful but it was not easy. I had awake lipo before just for lower abdomen and i don’t have any real memory of it. However this time,I definitely recall every second. First let me say, this Dr. Okpaku is handsome. Like tv Doctor handsome and that did not help . Lmao ! Goodness. Anyway so they gave me the cocktail of pills to get me relaxed and they did work. However once I got on the table,I noticed I was way more cognizant than i was when I got my other awake lipo. They say the initial needles hurt cause they do have get the numbing solution in and the other chemicals - then they go in and do the actual liposuction. Let me tell you about the needle part. I felt a lot of pain . I was waiting for the part when I would stop feeling anything other than pressure (that part came but not until well after). I felt every needle and pinch for about 20 minutes. I didn’t feel like it was unbearable but I did cry. Not like boo-hoo cry, but tears coming out of eyes and feeling like I was praying for it to be over .
I was afraid to make too much noise or squirm because I didn’t want him to be less aggressive with his work or to stop all together. The nurses gave me some more pills and held my hand and gave me a squeeze ball and that all helped.
The staff and doctor was very good and helpful and I was truly proud of myself when I was done. I know my pain tolerance is super low and I’m a wimp , so i don’t want to make this claim that the lipo was “painful” but for me it was. Towards the last stretch I felt more comfortable so perhaps I needed the anesthetic to set in a little longer before we got started. From the looks of things, he did really go in there and get that fat . That’s what I paid for so I can give a good review on his work( and his good looking face did provide extra comfort ). Today I’ve got some swelling, bruising and pain but it’s all manageable this time.
So far, so good. im still in the binder so I’ll get some photos shortly
