A little bit of background info: I’m 27 without children. Im between 5’8 and 5’9 and 182 lbs (yikes lol). This is also my first time getting any kind of cosmetic procedure (so therefore a little nervous!). My goal is to get a bit of an hour glass figure of my waist. My procedure is July 15, so I am checking in a bit early. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice about post op care? Any shopping lists?! Thank you.

Get some sterile wash from a pharmacy and some sterile gauze or pads to clean the incisions. May also want some medical tape to change your dressings or tape wounds closed directly if they are small. Baggy tops help too to fit over your garments, and comfortable shorts or sweats you can wear over your garments. You may want a bra that's easy to get on/off without going over the head if you can.

I am considering liposuction, and I went in for my consultation, but I am having a hard time getting my surgeon to perform the surgery. I am 5'9 and 200lbs (crazy I know), but all the fat is in my breast, back, and stomac. My thighs are not big at all and I am telling my surgeon that I want the Lipo 360, but they are concerned I will not get the results I am seeking. I am trying to loose 10 pounds in the next few months, so I can have the surgery. You look great! I hope it works out for me.

My goals + More info!

bellapink2015
My goal is to have the "BBL," look without actually getting a BBL. The reason why I opted not to get a BBL is because I plan to start working out my lower body in the gym. I'm in love with toned calves, hamstrings, and a nice, rounded butt. Nice legs and a nice butt can be built in the gym, but a small waist is a little trickier to attain. Getting a smaller wasitline in the gym typically means smaller everything else! I would like to keep my hips and the little butt that I do have (lol). You can't spot reduce in the gym but you can spot reduce with surgery :) My stomach/love handles have been an issue for me for as long as I can remember. My goal is to have my waist go more "inward," like an hourglass. My look will not be as dramatic as a BBL look, but I do believe it will be a tremendous improvement!

Prior to visiting Dr. Kanter, I had my mind made up that I was going to get smart lipo, but after discussing my options with Dr. Kanter and doing some research, I ultimately decided to go with traditional liposuction. The doctor said I would be a good candidate for either or. If you consult with Kanter concerning lipo, he will discuss both options in depth with you. I was shocked to find out that Smart lipo was actually more expensive than traditional (Smart lipo $6700 , Traditional Lipo $4500). Smart lipo also takes longer to perform while traditional lipo will only be 2 hours and 30 mins. Both Traditional and Smart lipo has its pros and cons, it will ultimately be up to you to decide which procedure is right for you. Since I work in the school system and have the summer off, I didn't mind the down time of traditional lipo (which is about 2 weeks).

I will be back with my pre-op measurements and will measure myself again after surgery. 7 more days to go! Both excited and nervous!

Day Before Surgery

bellapink2015
Omgosh! The day has finally arrived. Tomorrow is my surgery. I am scheduled to to be there at 6:45 AM (the actual surgery will start at 7:30 AM). I am so nervous and ready for the whole thing to be over with! It is a good thing that I am having my procedure so early in the morning so my nerves won't get the best of me throughout the day.
My Updated Specs:
Current Weight: 185 lbs (Boo! I gained 3 lbs)
Measurements:
Waist (Smallest part): 33 in.
Around Belly Button: 39.5 in
Hips: 45 in
I only plan to lose inches in my waist (the smallest part where there is a "dent," and around my belly button). I do not mind my hips being 45 (it helps in the bbl look lol).
To those of you who've already had lipo, did you get a lymphatic massages after your procedure? I mentioned this to my doctor and he stated that he found them unnecessary due to there not being enough data on the benefits of lymphatic massage after lipo. He said it is completely optional and I can get them if I want, but he does not require it. Thanks!
