EARLY REVIEW – DAY 9 POST-OP
This is an early review. I will update it at 3 months and again at 6-12 months
I figured I'd write an early review because when I was researching this surgery, I noticed there really weren't many recent reviews out there after 2023. I know how frustrating that can be when you're trying to make a decision, so hopefully this helps someone.
I'm currently 9 days post-op after:
- HD Liposculpture
- Gynecomastia correction
- Fat transfer to pectorals and deltoids
- Quantum RF
- Scar revision
And honestly... so far, I'm extremely happy I did it.
One thing that impressed me right from the start was the amount of attention given by the anesthesia team. They asked me things that nobody had ever asked before. Medications, supplements, blood work, scans, previous procedures, all kinds of details. It felt like they genuinely cared about safety and weren't just trying to get me into the operating room as quickly as possible.
The biggest surprise, though, has been the recovery process.
A nurse was included initially, but I decided to extend the service for my entire stay because the cost was surprisingly reasonable compared to the amount of help I was getting. Looking back, that was probably one of the smartest decisions I made.
She helped with medications, mobility, dressing changes, recovery monitoring, and all the little things you don't think about before surgery but suddenly become very important afterward.
To be honest, I don't know if I would have had this level of support anywhere in Europe. My experience there has usually been much more hands-off.
For accommodation, I stayed at Salvio Parque 93 in a Junior Suite. If you're coming from another country, I highly recommend it. The room had both a kitchen and a washing machine, which turned out to be incredibly useful during recovery. Small detail maybe, but after surgery those things matter a lot.
So far I've completed 9 hyperbaric chamber sessions and 9 lymphatic drainage massages. I still have 1 more hyperbaric session and another 9 massages scheduled.
Were they necessary? I don't know. Did they help? Personally, I think they did.
The biggest shock for me has been how little pain I've had.
Seriously.
I expected pain. A lot of pain.
Instead, the main issue has been swelling and inflammation. That's it. Discomfort, yes. Swelling, definitely. But actual pain? Much less than I expected.
I started walking immediately after surgery and I've kept walking every day since. Most days I walk from Salvio Parque 93 to the spa and back, and usually to nearby restaurants as well. I honestly feel that the walking has helped my recovery tremendously.
What's even more surprising is that by day 9 I basically feel recovered. Obviously I'm still swollen and I know the healing process is nowhere near finished, but physically I feel well enough that I could probably fly home already. The only reason I'm staying longer is because I wanted to play it safe and give myself the best possible recovery.
As for the results... I know it's still early, but I'm extremely happy so far.
My waist is noticeably smaller. My shoulders look broader. My chest looks fuller. My back looks better. Overall I already look much more athletic than before surgery.
And maybe the thing I appreciate most is that I never felt abandoned after the procedure.
The nurse checks constantly. Dr. Hoyos' team follows up. Even Clínica Dhara contacted me directly to ask about pain levels, drainage, fever, swelling, and how recovery was going.
That level of follow-up honestly surprised me.
Anyway, this is only an early review. I'll come back and update it after a few months when everything settles down, but as of day 9 my experience has been extremely positive and I'm very happy with my decision.
