Celebrity Arms & Dr. Su Changed My Life!

WORTH IT
I have always had larger arms (even as an early teen)! I had recently lost some weight and my arms lost volume but were still annoyingly big in proportion to my frame. It has always been a part of my body that I felt self-conscious about (I never wore my arms out and always hid in sleeves as silly as it may seem). I never considered plastic surgery as an option because of the down time and I assumed because of the size of my arms and the looseness of my skin I would only be eligible for a brachioplasty which I found invasive and a bit daunting. So naturally, I just accepted that I would live my life with my bat wing arms and make do.
After accidentally stumbling upon a video of Dr. Su's work - I was astonished and immediately sold. I was so excited to learn of this procedure and spent the ENTIRE night awake looking at videos and doing research. I didn't even hesitate to complete the online form to get in touch with the clinic. I could not sleep I was just SO excited!! I came on real-self and read reviews and found it super helpful and decided to share my experience in hopes that it will help anyone who may be considering the procedure and even more so help share the confidence I have in Dr. Su.
From the very initial stages the professionalism and promptness of the staff at Artistic Liposuction was impressive. I was in contact with Nicole and Nurse Amy over email and the phone and they were just so amazing to work with. They were fast and easy to reach. They were both thorough to explain to me anything I asked about and made the process a complete piece of cake. They were more than accommodating with me and as an international patient - took extra care to go through all of the paperwork with me and helped me with accommodation and planning. Everything was so simple and straightforward. I sent in photos so Dr. Su could assess my case and we scheduled a phone call to go over any details and questions. During the call I never felt rushed and only felt assured. We talked about my skin quality (due to losing weight and loss of elasticity) and that I may have creping in my skin and he was very up-forward about the results I could expect in my particular case, which I appreciated (considering some doctors may want to promise you the moon knowing full well it may not be plausible).
I arrived in Tampa for the surgery and thought maybe I would be nervous as I have never had any kind of procedure done in my life and should have been a little unsure of what to expect (I haven't even had wisdom teeth removed so I was really a newbie to any kind of treatment). But I wasn't. I was just so excited and was looking forward to going home with new arms! I was checked in with my nurse RaeChelle who prepped me for the procedure. I met Dr. Su in the flesh and felt like I met him before. He talked me through what to expect, made his markings, I said bye bye to my mom - and we jumped right in. From the very start to the end took around 3.5 hours (including the procedure prep, the procedure, and the final dressing of the arms with the garment).
The procedure itself started with numbing at incision sites, small incisions were made, and then the tumescent fluid was injected through those incisions, and finally the liposcultpure began. There was no pain. At worst there was a weird discomfort - but never what I would consider to be pain. You are fully awake and are expected to tense your muscles for most of the procedure in different positions as Dr. Su expertly sculpts your arms into beautiful arms that are magically a fraction of what they were. The procedure was so bearable we had a conversation most of the way through.
Dr. Su is amazingly professional. His work speaks for itself. You can see it right before your eyes and the transformation is unreal. His approach to liposculpture and liposuction is completely different than the conventional approach and through that you have amazing results that I don't believe many (if any) can replicate. He developed this technique himself and has performed thousands of these procedures. He is the true definition of a SPECIALIST. And you are in no better hands than someone who has developed the procedure and perfected it over years.
Half way through we took a peek to see the comparison and it was just spectacular. We continued and completed the second arm and then RaeChelle glued my incisions up, put on my garments and explained to me the correct after care and I was on my way back to the hotel. The pain medicine was great (or at least I think so because I felt nothing notable and slept through most of the day and night) and I experienced no significant pain - more so just a soreness and numbness. The next day we met for a follow-up and RaeChelle taught my mom and I how to put on my compression garment and how to treat the incisions. Dr. Su looked over his work and we admired how beautiful things were looking.
Recovery is a very personal thing as obviously EVERY BODY IS DIFFERENT. For me - I have to say there has not really been any pain and mostly just a tender sore feeling if someone bumps into me or if I brush up against something. I stopped taking the pain medicine by the morning of day 3 because I didn't feel like I needed it and I felt it made me drowsy. I switched to tylenol and even then barely needed it. I got swollen overnight - which from what I understand doesn't happen to everyone - but I guess I tend to swell and bruise easier than some. So on the first day after I was puffy and slightly black and blued. Luckily - we took before and after photos immediately after the procedure. (But the results are even better now that the skin has had time to pull back up along the muscle.) The most difficult aspect for me so far of this whole procedure has been the garment. It is imperative to wear the compression sleeves for 2 weeks post op. You are allowed to remove it to shower and can leave it off for an hour to stretch etc - but for the most part its on you all the time. The compression on the arms feel nice - but on me it cuts under my arms and left me a bit blistered. I read on another Real-Self review that the person used panty liners to lay between the skin and the garment and that has saved my life because that cutting pain is the only pain to note. I am one week post op and a lot of the bruising is lightening and the skin has pulled up so nicely. I cannot wait for this week to pass so I can rid myself of these sleeves, but other than that I cannot complain. If I had to do it again I would. The results are amazing and worth every penny and any amount of sore armpits!
I wish I knew about this years ago. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Su to anyone looking for a specialist and true artist in Liposculpture. Do not hesitate - make contact and let his expertise in the field make you feel at ease.

Thank you sooo much for this review. You described me and how I’ve been researching him like crazy. Questioning if I should do it. How have the scars healed? I hear they keloid.
