Prepared for Surgery but Left After a Nearly Two-Hour Wait

I did not end up having my procedure because I left before it began due to the circumstances described below.
----- I was very disappointed with my experience. After having an in-office procedure scheduled for quite some time, I arrived early for my appointment (an hour and 15 min away each way). I was taken into the procedure room, changed into a gown in a freezing room, and had multiple areas of my body prepared with topical lidocaine in anticipation of surgery. I waited for nearly two hours with very little communication about what was happening from the time I checkin to when I was in the gown waiting for the procedure. Not a word was said to me by the staff until I began to ask if and when my procedure was taking place. I told them I am uncomfortable sitting in a freezing room not knowing what's going on and if the doctor will come in to see me. I proceeded to wait for a while. At first I was told by staff that they didnt know where the doctor went and then after some more waiting when I asked again where Is the doctor, they said he may have had an emergency. I understand emergencies can occur, but patients who have already been prepared for a procedure deserve timely updates and clear communication. I ultimately left because I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. Dr. Torina later called to apologize, which I appreciated, and the nursing staff was kind and professional throughout. But unfortunately, this was not my first experience with a significant delay at this office. At my previous visit, I waited over an hour before being told the doctor was running behind. I let that go, but for this to happen on the day of a scheduled procedure that I had waited for and arranged my schedule around, including missing my son's game because of the delay, was unacceptable.
