Fat graft to lips and vy
I am now 8 weeks post op and 4 days. I’m feeling better than before. The healing process is difficult. At times I thought I made a mistake until each week I saw it was changing! Definitely the first 4 weeks was hard for me. Around the 5 week I started to gain hope. I do have asymmetry which I’m not happy about but overall esthetically I like them better than before. I started out with asymmetry and told the doctor to make them even however I believe he placed more fat on the wrong side which still made me uneven. The positive about all this that most of this will not survive during the first 3 months so they put a little more and I still have a chance for them to even out over time. The uneveness is due to a technical/artistic error not due to the graft creating lumps or anything like that. The main plus is now I can close my mouth easier which was the main reason I got it due to a horrible lip reduction and not having soreness while closing. I also don’t have a pinched/sucking look. The only thing I’m still concerned about more than the unevenness is the feeling of it. It feels tight somewhat and it feels like I have something on and inside my lips. I still have not adjusted to the feel of it and that can be due to it still needs to heal. The movement is still not normal to me but this is expected with any surgery being 2 months out. Nerves were effected in the process so everything has to take time to heal and it could takes months. I do have feeling which is good! I’m just trying to be patient with getting the old feeling of my lips back and feeling normal again with the way that they feel.

Vy Bottom Lip and Dermal Fat Graft to the Top
I got my lip procedure done 8 days ago because I have always been self conscious about the way they looked ever since I got a lip reduction. My smile indefinitely changed since the reduction and my top lip was made too small. I searched for a doctor who specializes in dermal fat graft and I also wanted a vy lip augmentation to my bottom because of the sagging from multiple chin surgeries. I am feeling worried about my healing. I’m super swollen...more swollen than the average who gets fat transfer by a needle. I got an incision on my abdominal lower stomach to retrieve the skin and fat and it was placed in my top lip. So I feel like it’s starting to look asymmetrical and my bottom lip is not healing how I expected it. One of the flaps got loose from the stitches and the other side is fine but I’m afraid it may leave a flappy bump inside my lip or may be noticeable when talking. Has anyone had this type of procedure on their lips and can reassure me that everything will be alright. I guess I’m more stressed because I literally look like a blowfish and have to wear a mask even in my home because I don’t want to frighten my kids. I just hope that it heals perfectly and symmetrical without numbness.

I think is going to look beautiful, the swollen it will get better after 3 week. Good luck
Thank you! When are you getting your procedure?
I can’t wait till 3 more weeks! This is miserable going through the recovery process. The numbness, tightness, and swolleness is too much.
I was going to have the same procedure by the same doctor but I asked the staff how long will it take for the recovery. They told me 3 to 4 weeks or more depends how your body heals.
Pineapple juice and vitamin C help with healing .
Oh thanks! I’m going to start using that. Are you still going to go with the doctor?
I will
When do you plan on it?
I don't know yet , I wish I could do this summer.
How are you feeling?
