Lip Lift/Corner lip lift - Too Conservative and Lip Line is Squiggly

ORIGINAL POST

Botched Corner Lip Lift

Love First CC
I chose Dr. Pearson since he had great reviews but I guess even good doctors make mistakes sometimes. I still think he did a pretty good job with the lip lift even though he was too conservative and botched one side of my lip, even taking a little chunk out of it. I'm able to hide it with lipstick but feel self conscious without it because my lip line is all squiggly and lower than the other side. I was hoping that he would take responsibility for his mistake and do a revision but he expects me to pay for it so I will find another doctor. It's probably better that I don't risk by using him again anyways.

Does it look better now?

Sorry about not having the "After" photo but RealSelf requires the receipt to prove that I did the operation with Dr. Pearson, so I had to search for it. Finally they allowed me to post my "After" photo after receiving my receipt.
I'm not so sure it looks better. My Philtrum is a bit shorter but the lips haven't changed much except for having a new scar.

Unfortunately no. I've consulted a couple of other doctors that feel like they can make an improvement though. The problem is that I have to pay for another lip lift all over again and it is quite costly

Unfortunately no. The asymmetry seems to be getting worse. I've consulted with a couple of doctors though that feel that they can improve it. The problem is that I will have to pay for a whole new procedure and it is quite costly.

That is so funny because i continuously post my receipt, it was “verified” on my review, and now it’s gone. It won’t stay up!

Oh no! Do you have pics of final result?!

I just posted above.

Have you considered tattooing your lip line. If you're in the LA area sashiko studio's work looks great. Good luck and sad to see this unexpected response for your revision request.

I've asked about that and they said that they didn't think it was a good idea because the lip and skin pick up pigment differently. They said it would appear more like a Koolaid stain.

I feel your pain. I went through 3 lip lifts (not a choice) and corner lip lift in London, all done by the ‘best plastic surgeons’ in Harley Street. The last surgeon, who specialises in reconstructive surgery, left me disfigured, with a massive asymmetry (I looked as if I had a cleft lip) and severely downturned corners. In the end, I got fixed up by a Polish plastic surgeon from Warsaw, Dr Osuch. He trained Lip Lift procedures under Dr Mascaro and Ben Talei. He performed a half lip lift, to fix the asymmetry, and corner lip lift in two stages. He literally saved my face.

I am considering doing the revision with Dr. Mascaro. It is quite expensive though and would require that I fly to Florida to have it done. I just need to have it done right this time and put this behind me. The asymmetry seems to be getting worse. I'm happy that you were able to have yours fixed though. Hopefully I will be happy with the results of my revision as well.

Mascaro actually did the wrong lip surgery on me. He did nothing we discussed, he has mentally and physically harmed me. He has no regrets for what he has done I would not recommend him.He has deformed me and it cannot be corrected only improved. he’s not all people make him out to be. Please give that a second thought

You poor thing! I’m sorry to hear this but thank you for sharing your experience with me. There is a doctor in LA named Dr. Amy Hsu that I also consulted and am strongly considering at this point. I hope you too find somebody that can make your lips beautiful, but I know how you feel, there’s always a risk, not to mention that these procedures are very costly.

I am also considering Dr. Hsu for lip lift revision (the main issue being with the corners). I haven't consulted with her yet, but my situation is actually very similar to yours, so I would love to know how things turn out for you!

Unfortunately I don't plan to do it until next year. Wish I could be more help! I will update my post though when I do. Maybe it will be before you, you never know.

I'll probably also do it next year. Trying for a consult sometime in January.

Squiggly Lip and Lower on the Right Side

Love First CC
Unfortunately I am disappointed in my result. The philtrum is a little shorter but I needed more off. He only took 5 mm off, but my biggest disappointment is the squiggly line on my right side. I am able to hide it with make-up but wish I didn't need to do that.

How are you doing in 2023? I'm truly sorry you spent money for this and you didn't get the result you wanted. You're not botched thankfully but I can see why you'd be upset. I'm still in research mode and it's eye opening to see the kind of issues that can come about with the lip lift. I've seen several people that have made me re-think altogether. Did you ever go for a revision? I read (your comments) that you consulted with Dr.Amy Hsu. I'm thinking of doing a consult with her based on her reviews w/photos and her professional submitted photos. I also chatted with someone who went to her for a lip lift and she looks good. That said, ALL of these doctors have a ton of glowing reviews and zero pics. When people ask for pics or have questions, no reply. Real Self should require pics or else it just looks phony. Seriously not helpful for a cosmetic surgery site. Thank you for posting pics btw! Although I wouldn't say you look bad at all, it's definitely not quality work. It certainly doesn't live up to his "reviews". I would have expected a stellar result considering you started with an ideal shape and super nice lips. It's disappointing about the 5mm but worse, you shouldn't have a squiggly line (from doc w/20 years experience) and then have to fix it with lip pencil. Yeah that's sloppy for sure and just shows his "skill". Crossing Dr. Pearson off my list as well as Mascaro, Talei and Linkov etc. Lip Lifts are getting so expensive due to popularity and some these docs don't deserve our business especially when they fail to remedy their obvious mistakes while charging top dollar. The wonderful lady with the severe black bruising and difficult recovery paid Dr T 7.5K in 2018/19 to ensure she would receive the best outcome but that didn't happen. In the end her result is too subtle and still has a long philtrum. So far, I've never seen lips get that black. So scary. Thanks to people like you for being honest even though it's painful and disappointing. We can only research so much and then make a choice, trust, and hope for the best. I hope you update with a successful revision outcome.

Hey, what is wrong with Dr Mascaro, I thought his lip lifts incision is very fine for what he shows on his IG.

How about Dr Talei?

Sorry! I didn't know my massive comment would post as a big of wall words. I thought it post in paragraphs. Ugh
