11 days post op.
Feeling good. The scar has flattened out a lot. It is still very red, but I am very pale and flush very easily so I'm not surprised. It is still very tight and it still hurts when i smile too big or make other big movements. I am very happy with the progress considering it hasn't even been two weeks yet. I am keeping the scar covered with the aquaphor as it is so tight and dry feeling at times. I might try covering it with makeup next week but I'm more concerned with it healing well.

Oh my gosh so I have a consult with Dr. Pearson on March 15! Would you overall say this is worth it? I am impressed by him but I will be coming in from out of state. This whole process is scary and intimating, especially long distance. I am from the east coast but I'm willing to travel to the best doctor I can find.

Oh my gosh, yes! It was SO worth it. I really wish that I had done it sooner. I'm only a little over 2 weeks post op and I'm buying lipstick like it was some new makeup product. So much fun. I haven't worn lipstick since high school. On top of that my lip is not hanging in my mouth space anymore so I'm much more comfortable. I didn't realize how bad it was. And in my opinion, I think that Dr. Pearson is definitely worth the travel. I've had some other work over the years and he is by far the best doctor I've ever dealt with. He's amazing!

I was rereading this and I realized that I also started my comment with "Oh my gosh". I hope that you did not think that I was making fun or being snarky to you, since this was how you started your question. I was just very excited to hear that you were considering
Dr. Pearson. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

You are just so sweet! and no I didn't take it that way at all!!!! I really appreciate you getting back to me. I have a skype consult with him on March 15 (he has been away on a medical mission trip so that's the earliest I could get). I am really in between 3 doctors....Pearson, Mascaro (in FL) and Spiegel in Boston. Really tough call. I have my consult with Spiegel next week and I'm going to see if they all have similar feedback as to what they think would be best. thanks again for taking the time to reply and congrats on you amazing results!!!

Thank you so much! I'm sure that you will make a great decision. Just trust your gut.

My advice is to become an expert on your face. Know where you want your lips to be, what kind of proportion of top to bottom, where you want your side and cupid's bow, how you want it proportioned, what your lips' quirks are, and understand your own natural assymetries (nose and lips) and ask the doctor to give his assessment to see if he comes to the same conclusions and if he sees what you see. If he doesn't see what you see, be prepared to potentially be unhappy with his result. I knew I wanted more lift from the sides of my lips and I didn't assert myself more and paid the price. Definitely ask them if they have long term contact with their lip lift patients and what they have learned happens one year out.

Look forward to your review and hearing what made you decide on which doctor -- if any.

Dear Vgsantone have you noticed your nose has changed or not ?
User Avatar

Hi Alexandrast,
No, my nose has not changed. In the beginning I was definitely freaking out about how swollen it was and that my nostrils looked so different. But now it looks fine. All of my nose is very firm and what they call "structured", so it would be hard to change it's shape. My doctor said that most of the time, if there are any changes to a nose at all, it would be to a nose and nostrils that were less structured.

Can I ask what length you started and ended with? Thank you. Looks beautiful.

1 week post op
Stitches came today and surgical tape was put on. This was Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
I had a reaction to the tape and even though it was supposed to stay on for a whole week it fell off the first night. With the doctors permission I covered the scar with makeup on Wednesday. Unfortunately, after a while it settled in all the lines and marks left by the stitches and looked horrible. I will go without makeup on the incision site for another week and then try again.

5 days post op. Swelling has gone down a lot more and I'm only in pain when I forget and smile or laugh. Can't wait to get the stitches out on Monday. They are so itchy due to the healing but they look like little black whiskers. ???? I'll keep you posted!

What kind of supplements are you taking and did you ice the first two days?

I was taking arnica to combat the swelling and brusing. I took the tablets and also used the cream all around my face.
