Lip Lift a Month Ago- Still Have Scaring and Can't Totally Close my Mouth.

Rp12345911
I had a lip lift about a month ago. I still have a pretty bad incision line that isn't healing nicely, is grooved and very red. I've started scar cream but i am getting impatient as I don't see the incision getting better, it's actually starting to look worse. Also, I'm not able to close my mouth all the way and it looks slightly down turned. I feel like I have too much tooth show. Hoping that this improves with time :(

This is all perfectly normal at the one month mark. You are still swollen especially in the middle part of our upper lip. Keep up with the scar cream and stay out of the sun. The recovery takes longer than people are led to believe. I was finally happy with my lips only after the three month mark. Your lips look great and will become more natural looking with time. The scar healing is a process that requires a fair amount of patience for many of us. Hang in there.

Totally agree with this comment, Don't get freaked out, results look normal at this stage, and things can be done to scars if needed

Seconding this comment! I wasn't happy with my lip lift until 3.5 months out!

Thanks, your comments make me feel much better about my current state. I feel like I watched so many videos of other people's recoveries and they looked so good after a month and almost totally healed whereas I still look awful.

You should dissolve your fillers, your lips are unnatural and large. It ages you. Not a good look. The scar will never go away.

I think you look wonderful!

Ive seen another lip lift post recently and their scar was exactly like yours at a month and got better later on. Its a natural part of healing.

Wow, I think it looks so flattering ! And especially your teeth showing like that - it doesn't look turned down or anything (for what its worth coming from an outsider). Can you post a "pre-op" pic for reference of how long your philtrum was originally? Good luck with the scarring issue!
